And let me tell you my definition of stock and I have no more to say. Factory Stock which is a product that has NOT been tampered to deform from its original form. So, everything that came with the car stays on the car. That includes body and tires. As well as electronics. There are only a handful of people that did it and not even Traxxas did it. And that should tell you something.

Yea bro I mentioned that in my video. I'm going to definitely be doing some minor changes to the body but we going to get that 100+mph advertised stock. I understand stand that love hate relationship. I'm already developing it. Once done I may turn it into one of my on road race cars. Who knows it just a lot of work with Traxxas. Arrma definitely spoiled us and is the fastest RC out there.

That is obvious but mission is to achieve it with its factory parts. I truly believe if a manufacturer is going put a speed sticker on a box and tell you this is what you need to do to achieve the designated speed it should do that without changing anything. I know that if I change the tires and put weight as well as reenforcing the body it would achieve 100mph easy. But what's the challenge in that.

Change tires is not out of the box man

The rear tires were ballooning extremely bad. Body on or off it was still affecting the driving habits.

This car says it has belted tires too. They really didn't change anything. They want you to buy there upgrades and add to that 799 sticker price. I refuse. I want to prove it's 100mph factory. It's a challenge and I want to do it factory stock. And if Traxxas tells me I need to do this extra thing to get it then they need to say 90+Mph on that box

Thanks for watching and sharing. You must be fairly new to my channel, and I thank you for coming through. This was done last year just before Traxxas released their version 2 after 10 years. I'm greatly aware of the problematic conditions of this vehicle. Let me say humbly. I wanted to show as a consumer who is NOT SPONSORED to not say certain things or reveal certain things. I want to be HONEST. I am am truthful of my particular experience after purchasing my 1st XO-1. This may not be your experience because everyone is not able to achieve the advertised labels speed right out the box doing what Traxxas says you need to do to get it to 100mph. Traxxas, NEVER SAID! Change the tires. They CLAIMED 100 mph. They even had a video showing they achieved it using the Traxxas app. And you and I know that the Traxxas app is DECEVING. So that's all I was sharing with my RC family and to those who are thinking of doing speed runs with this version and the next. Please look at my descriptions below in the video to follow the rest of the series. And to answer your question earlier, I do not balance tires to do 100mph. It's fairly easy to do that these days with better technology. 150mph+ definitely balancing. Again, thank you for watching, and please share.

They do for the XO-1 but they should have put better tires on here

The v2 has no extra pinion gear for speed runs. Traxxass says in the manual to buy a aftermarket pinion gear

Thanks the fact that you have to do anything other than the instructions they give you speaks volume. But I will take that into consideration for future builds. No one talks about balancing wheels often. I balance and true my foam wheels but for street bashers I don't bother with them.

@@MatrixRC yeah my car would make the same noise at high speeds, I balanced my tires and I can now hold the car in one hand and bring it all the way to wide open with no vibrations and the tires don’t balloon, what you’re seeing is the whole arm flexing letting the tire rub and making you lose control.

Suspension setup is key. Any car is capable of going fast. You just have to adjust the car appropriately. Lighter the car the quicker. I know some add weight but from my experience and learning from scientific studies in aerodynamics it’s all about how you setup your car so that you can maximize downforce without adding weight and keep traction. It’s trial and error. Every car needs something a little different but they are roughly in the same ball park. And you have to factor in the body you’re using so make sure the ride height and rake is accurate for the body you’re using.

This is a 100 MPH STOCK RUN CHALLENGE. Not changing anything until.

As a fellow rc lover of all car manufacturers. Not all cars are created equal and not going to hit there advertised speed. I'm just sharing my honest experience. And if I was bias as you say then I would not be trying to achieve Traxxas claim of 100mph following there instructions. The goal is to achieve the advertised speed only using what they provided. If I was biased I wouldn't have purchase several other Traxxas vehicles I own and built or any other manufacturers you seen me run. But you are entitled to how you perceive my comments but I look at it as constructive criticism that anyone who tries to run this car you are likely to have these issues.

@@MatrixRC I don’t because your beeping bias, just talking about Traxxas. And all companies post mph on the box stock and none of them can achieve what was printed on the box.

And I beg to differ. From my experience manufacturers such as Arrma, Hobao even team corally have been better at marketing below there top speed. It's always wise to say you do a lower speed and when it's tested it exceeds it. But if one was to say they do a certain speed and when tested the buyer feels disappointed and lied to. That's why manufacturers today are under valuing there speed because they care about the customer experience. I'm not mad at Traxxas because it's a company trying to make money like all of them. However, my goal for this car is to show how and prove how to reach 100mph stock with very little changes. And so far very few experts have achieved 100mph just stock and that is what I'm trying to do. It's easy to change tires add weight to keep the front-end down to get 100mph but can you do it without it?
