Then the Dogg Pound album went platinum and he was only one on ONE song. Snoop was the one who asked Suge to sign Pac. Snoop simply played Dwayne Wade to Pac's LeBron and Death Row won the championship in 96. Snoop was going to drop in 98 without Dre but with Pac, Daz on this new movement at Death Row called Thug Pound. Snoop had the LBC Crew, Dogg Pound, Kurupt and Daz had successful solo careers, Badazz and Nate Dogg. Pac had the Outlaws. That's was going to be Death Row post Dre and then Pac punched Orlando and changed the course of rap forever.

Growing up in this era being a fan in high school at this time, how it appeared was the "shine" that 2pac allegedly stole, was the type of Shine Snoop wanted off of him anyway. Snoop was laid back and kind of shy back then and didn't want the controversial attention he was getting coming off the murder trial. I think 2pac relieved Snoop of some of the unwanted shine.

The people that hate snoop just like to hate snoop. There are fans that have something to say about him anytime anyone says anything about him in a good light, they call it cappin. But if it’s something that makes him look bad, they don’t care if it’s true or not they just run with it as fact. Death Row was never that label, where only one person could shine. At that time, whether it was 2pac, Dre or Snoop, in the prime days of death row. Whoever of the three put out an album you knew it was going to go triple platinum at least. Tha Dogg Father only went platinum, but that wasn’t because “2Pac took his shine” that was because when that album dropped death row was done. the fact that one of the outlaws also agrees with this, that someone who isn’t signed to Snoop Dogg, and doesn’t have any reason to protect him I think says it off. For those of us that were fans back then it’s not like you had to choose a favorite or something. All of their debut albums on death row did really well. Dogg Food went triple platinum and it’s not even like there was a song on that album that was played even half as much as the other three artist were.
