The Infinite and the Divine is like the weirdest buddy cop story. Except they're enemies too. And they're not cops. But they both acknowledge each other as kindred spirits and equals. And they also are still backstabbing to this day.

Trazyn in a theft duel with the blood ravens would be hilarious, the blood ravens would break into his museum and rob a bunch of crap only for them to return to their ship and find all their stuff missing in turn with a note saying "get f*cked you tubes of ketchup"

If you’re still interested in doing a 40K book review series I would recommend The Infinite and the Divine which is a story where Trazyn and Orikan have a ten thousand year prank war.

There’s a great story we’re a lictor breaks out of stasis in the vault and starts trying to let the genestealers loose that’s he has also collected

There are rumours that his desire of hoarding everything there is that he has captured the remaining emotions of Angron other than anger

the Infinite and the Divine is a great book and i cannot recommand it enough at some point Trazyn dooms a whole planet just to play a prank on Orikan it's great

Great to see you guys do an episode on this guy! Personally I think all the Necron special characters are great, but Trazyn is really special in a lot of ways. I will say that I do hope you guys consider reading The Infinite and the Divine for your bookclub at some point. I'm sure it's more the wiki's fault than anything, but Trazyn's personality is actually pretty different from the stuff they say about him. And he actually fights in personal combat a lot more than you'd think! Against some pretty heavy weight stuff to boot. It's a REALLY good book, that does a great job of fleshing out the Crons in general. It's also nice since it is a standalone book, and not part of a longrunning series or trilogy. If you do read it, I highly recommend the audiobook version, since it is really well voice acted. And just for fun, here's some other factoids about him. * Solemnace is actually an artificial world, being a Dyson planet. That one Inquisitor went to it because they noticed a Hive Fleet went around the planet. He uses a C'tan shard to power it, and pretty much the entire planet is his gallery, and it is growing. * That Inquisitor actually survived and he had her teach him a lot about the Imperium. It's why he knows the most about humans out of the Necrons. * He is actually really fond of humanity because they remind him of the Necrontyr. * Pre-Fall of Cadia he fought Cato Sicarius of the Ultramarines. And told him he and Roboute were old friends and they were better off leaving him in his care. * He beat the Space Wolves in their own Codex. Which is a feat few can brag about. * He actually can use mindshackle scarabs in combat. In his original rules in 5th edition it was even one of his main abilities.

Incidentally, Saint Gerstahl is an Imperial Army officer who fell in battle defending the Cadian Gate during the first centuries after the Horus Heresy. He prophesied to “rise again when the ‘Eye of Darkness opened for the last time’ and stem the tide of the treacherous.” It was during the 3rd Black Crusade, Abaddon the Despoiler, the Warmaster of Chaos, launched an attack on Cadia, in order to distract the Imperium of Man from the desecration of Gerstahl's tomb. Abaddon then destroyed the remains of Saint Gerstahl in order to forestall any chance of the prophecy's fulfillment and his return as a Living Saint. Many theories now believe that the “rise again when the ‘Eye of Darkness opened for the last time’” may have instead simply referred to his Bell of St. Gerstahl rising the ring throughout Trayzen’s Vault, motivating the ancient Necron to leave his Tomb vault. Trayzen’s actions at the Fall of Cadia would then result in Abbadon having a far harder battle on Cadia, resulting in Abbadon’s Strategic Victory/Pyrrhic victory. Trayzen’s fix to Cadia’s planetary void shields at the last moment cause a severe delay and loss of forces to chaos, cost to Abbadon in his subsequent invasion of Cadia (rather than just blowing the planet up from orbit like he tried to do at first). This delay is likely what then gave Cawl and Yvraine the time the needed to make their way to Maccrage and revive Roboute Guilleman. And thus “stem the tide of the treacherous.” But that’s just one theory on how the prophecy of St. Gerstahl actually came true in the end. And Abbadon failed to stop it, despite his best efforts during his 3rd Black Crusade, believing that St. Gerstahl would be revived in the flesh, rather than simply a metaphorical “rise”.

My favorite thing about Trazyn is just imagining him jumping out from behind something and choking out whoever he is trying to take, whether that person is an inquisitor or a Greater Daemon.

Okay here me out, this is a theory i just thought of. So no one really knows whats actually in the vault what if games workshop comes out and flat out tells us that Primarch Vulcan is in there in stasis like the Space marine he has How cool would that be to see Trazyn laugh as he collects all those artifacts and has them on a display case next to a unconcious Vulcan in stasis.

The golden throne is failing... daemons begin to leak through the Webway gate... the custodes numbers lessen every day as the astronomicon begins to dim and flicker.... as a daemon stands before the throne, ready to deliver a destructive, ending blow, its arm is wrenched from its body by a great mechanical skeleton... and then, quite suddenly, Terra is engulfed into the warp as a new Eye of Terror opens up. The Corpse Emperor lives though, if it’s cursed existence could be called that, within the depths of Trazyn’s vault there sits a great golden throne, a no longer decaying skeleton sat atop it in stasis, surrounded by great golden warriors, all frozen in place for all eternity.

Why did it take me so long to watch this episode. I already loved this character before I knew who he was.
