The nights are cold and the days are getting warmer. Bass start to come out of their winterized state to stock up on food before heading into their spawning patterns. Most fish will still be stacked up in pockets adhering tightly to rocky structures, so you're going to need to use a bait that gets to them and irresistible to eat. What better lure for the occasion other than a weighted TRD. Bass eat this bait as if it were the Last Supper.

Hi Zack! Thanks for another great video! I'm glad the weather has been cooperating for you. The river looks awesome! It won't be long before the bigguns will be looking for beds up shallow.

Whats happening Christian? Thanks for tuning in again. There was a break in the weather, which allowed me to get out for a few days. Shortly after we received 3in of rain and then temps plummeted. I say about another two weeks and the bass will start scouting the shallows. Hope things are starting to kick off for you in PA.

Oh man! Sorry to hear about the rain... that's a ton of rain! That will put a damper on the action for sure. We're getting a break from the rain now. Last week, we had some storms and our Susquehanna River went up about 10 feet higher than we like to fish. This past weekend it came back down to high-normal, some of my local fishermen pals got some smallmouth. I couldn't find anything but walleyes but that's just part of the puzzle, I'll get on 'em again soon. I am really itching for some big pig largemouths in the shallower lakes/ponds that warm up quick... but we're in a big cold snap here now. Overnights in the teens, the lakes will freeze again 😱 later this week... come on, its Spring for God's sake! Lol. Good luck the next time you are out, my man! I hope the weather gets better soon!

@christiancognigni6234 that's about like the Wabash. It gets to be unfishable after it goes up 8 to 10 feet. That's when I try to find those pockets near creek deltas. It's still a little early here for the smallmouth to be in the shallows, so even that doesn't always pan out. The cold snaps haven't helped much in getting the bass to move. Almost all of my catches this year have been stuck to deep rock beds. We've gone from 70 degrees and 3in of rain to 28 degrees and snowing to 65 degrees then back to 30. 😑. It gave me a chance to get out yesterday and I caught a few nice ones creek fishing. I'll probably do some more lake fishing this year. Our rivers don't hold a lot of largemouths, and I like reeling in those buckets like any bass angler would. But hey, we're still catching fish and that's what matters at the end of the day.
