They're just fun little guys, y'know? Y'know what I mean though? APOLOGIES on the COMPO Results - I'm legit still getting them in huge amounts every day - NEXT VIDEO I promise. Not trying to string you along. GOD KNOWS.
Makes me kinda hope they’ll update the earthrise trailer if they use it again, because this is a much nicer trailer/set than what earthrise prime got and its only a couple of changes/additions
my main issue with the set is that it’s a pulse exclusive, which means i have to pay international shipping to canada because they forgot we exist. it’s a lovely little set but i dont wanna pay the online exclusive premium tax on top of all the other costs you have to consider.
Adding more detail on it would cost more on the smaller figures when it comes to the arms pieces of Optimus Prime, but could have been designed a little different. The Bumble figures almost resembles the 80's G1 car form and has some better articulation.
A detail that I have to comment on, and I have seen it a lot of times in the videos is Gav's tendency to show the poseability by dabbing, quite the funny bit from this funny man
I would be lying is I said I wasn't tempted by the core class figures. Their size and versatility is just impressive at times. Great review. Keep your hat on, too. We don't want you to catch a cold or something.
Hey Gavin, I apologize for the late comment on this one! Was at an airshow this weekend as a volunteer, and couldn't find the time for the life of me to sit down and watch TRDQ! I'll make up for it, I swear! (All jokes aside, I was really considering this set, despite the fact that legends scale isn't something I collect. Probably should grab them, maybe.)
At least gavin is honest about the one-sided relationship he has with us, rather than deluding us into believing we have a chance as long as we buy enough gallons of Repugnus' Monsterbot bath water
Im looking at this video and im like "when did they announce this?" either i slept through them showing this set off or my brain just ignored it somehow xd I might want to look into it, never had a optimus with a trailer so this might be a new experience
Because it's a yellow car, and bumblebee is the only yellow car they're willing to put on shelves. I mean, they could call it bumper and it would sell still because it's a yellow car, but then kids might be confused for half a minute as to why bumblebee looks different.
I thought those tiny guys were action masters at first! Regardless I do appreciate the effort put into Prime’s trailer, though I wouldn’t pay more than ten bucks for the set. Barely above Happy Meal grade toys.
Haven't had the chance to open up mine yet due to a lot of house stuff about, but I really liked the set up, the colours, and the box art. It had a lot of things that felt like a good and fun thing to go for.
I like the idea of the set; more accessories, nicer paint IN PLACES, more of a play set vibe which the core class needs more of other than giant Titan class figures that would cost most kids 3 months of child rent in their child apartments. However, when you see some of those small oddly coloured areas, and realise this is the price of a Newage legends figure, it’s a hard pass.
Well, it's the price of ONE Newage figure for two toys and a bunch of accessories. Plus it's official, which (for what it's worth) means that it's typically sold through reliable retailers. And the toys are much more, well, toyetic; they're less display-oriented and more for a birthday or holiday gift. I like them because they're nice little toys that fit on my desk and I don't have to worry about them clogging space. I know people like Knock-Off/"third-party" (there's nothing 3rd Party about 3P companies) but they've never spoken to me. I just find them over-engineered, way too expensive for what they are, and there's the sort of "ethics issue" (yeah, I know ethics and consumerism get along like oil and water) that they don't have the right to produce these toys, and are even less regulated than official products in terms of QC, working conditions, and materials usage. Yeah, there's plenty wrong with hastak stuff, and I'm all for options, but like 90% of third party is just the same psuedo-masterpiece circlejerk now.
@@BoisegangGaming Have you taken a look at Iron Factory and Magic square? They’re less expensive than Newage and you could get 2 of the smaller IF figures for the price of this set. Iron Factory tend to avoid the over engineered problem you mention, and are much closer to the idea of being fun toys. They’re basically the core class on a higher budget per figure. Plus, the legends scale is a lot less unethical because there isn’t enough of an overlap between Hasbro’s own products. Hasbro don’t make a lot of legends class figures anymore. It’s not like they’re eating to Hasbro’s own sales as opposed to 3PMP. Not to mention the original designs that iron factory create.
@@tomjames9681 I have been somewhat interested in Iron Factory's stuff (because they're one of the few groups that do something different), but it's the pointy bits that turn me off. I'm autistic, and tactile discomfort is something that is really difficult for me to deal with. I might pick up an item one day, but rn I'm just kind of grabbing the toys I think would be cool desk toys and that's it (or, in very rare cases, the nostalgia stuff like Legacy Cybertron Override).
That Bumblebee just does roll extremely well, cause it has four pinned wheels - BUT it's very easy to slightly mistransform it so the wheel arch is jamming one of the back wheels. If you get everything squeezed exactly into place it's a demon for zooming
It's the same one the original Prime as well, like they designed the robot mode first and thought "Oh, well no one will notice that we forgot to color that part." Well jokes on them, I noticed, and I don't mind saying I'm mildly tiffed about it. Like someone forgetting lemon in my tea. It's not a major thing, but rest assured I will be filling a rather stern three sentence review about it.
it's probably a construction issue. My guess is that it's a certain type of unpaintable plastic that needs to be there for tolerance reasons and they don't have the budget or engineering to try to cover it up. Would love if they did, but it's not like a big game breaker.
i have energon omega sentinel combined with optimus+drones sentinel-ing in front of a Dalianjj MP-01 scaled trailer opened & standing in maintenance bay mode, flanked by tfc ex-002 rollar-- in roller mode!-- thank you very much (no one, indeed) 😂
I don't get why everyone says bumble bee's arms pop off so easily. I've had the original buzzworthy release since it came out and I've never popped an arm off while transforming it. Maybe everyone else is just doing it wrong or maybe I have the only functional copy in existence.
Prime I must say acually looks better with white imo. And as for Bee, let's just say that mold wise, this is one really wasn't that great to begin with. The car mode is cool. But the transformation and the robot mode are an pain in a pipe to handle. At least he doesn't have the crappy exosuit minifig anymore.
It would be fun if they made a Sideswipe and a Prowl, took the molds for all the core class figures. gave them some alternate heads and made a blind box series of them in different colors, so just randomly you could get a sky blue Megatron figure with a different head and a orange and green sideswipe.
Seriously why do they keep including that bloody trailer with so may Primes? It jacks up the price and you can't chuck it away because then the figure will be incomplete, you just put it in a box and put the box away and forget about it, thank goodness for attics! 😐
