I have one of these, through damn-near supernatural means. I was 14 or 15. Mom and I had gone to a mall we infrequently visited. They had an oddly-spacious cavelike Kay-Bee toy store in the back near the food court. Lots and lots of old overstock from other stores. And that day, they had a Colossus. Exactly one. Something like five years after he was released. I asked my Mom to borrow some money until I could pay her back, and one look at this thing and she was like, 'I understand.' The entire thing feels like it had to have been a dream, and yet I own the bastard. Two years later I got an in-box Pyro at a flea market on the same day I bought the Batman Forever soundtrack on cassette. Sometime I think I've hallucinated my entire life.
That's interesting. I'm assuming you're in the US or Canada. For years I was convinced I had seen either Pyro or Clench in G2 packaging in a US shop. I got slapped down hard when I said this in the late 2000s because it never came out in the US. I assumed (if I hadn't imagined the whole thing) that I must have seen it in a comic shop that had imported it or something. Since then this is the first time Ive seen someone else say they saw one at US retail.
In Waco, Texas in 1953 the deadliest tornado since 1900 hit in downtown, but the rest of the numbers mean nothing. I honestly don't think someone in Europe looked that up to make a license plate for a toy. It must just be a coincidence. Great video review of a great little toy! Super cool.
I want more of these sorta fellas in the Legacy mainline, Clench is such a cool design. The colors, the head.. I love the late G1/Early G2 era, it was like the wild west in terms of color and style!
“It feels a little bit right wing, but i guess that’s the decepticons for you” Ooh the “the decepticons are the good guys actually” crowd aren’t gonna like that one
@@Cdr2002Not at all like those left wing commies who killed over 100 million people. Funny that people think the right are bad when the left does all the killing. Every presidential assassination, slavery (kkk and Civil War started by the left) and race riot all from the left.
The sudden imaginary thought of Legacy Commander class Clench is making me have multiple lust-induced heart-attacks. But let's not kid ourselves. They'd just repaint Scourge again. :/
I thought it was a griffin in the crosshairs (still chuckled). There's some nebulous listing for a Nemesis Prime/Clench "Swapticon" that may or may not materialize in the future. All of the characters mentioned in the Swapticon listings (and there are some weird ones) at least conceivably share an alt-mode, so my fervent hope is that the option to pop out the battle platform still exists alongside whatever the actual gimmick is supposed to be.
How comes Legacy Lazer Optimus hasn't had a Clench re-deco? I'd buy that for a dollar. Any excuse to have more hot pink in the collection. Great video as per ususal, sir.
Ah, I too readily judge people & bots for their questionable and tasteless body art. And the ‘90s just brought out the worst, eh? Clench probably listens to Oasis…
The Decepticons right-wing? Nah. Look at the IDW comics. Megatron was an oppressed minority who rose up against a fascist government. Optimus was a cop. Plus, which side has the wild, bright neon colors? The Decepticons are revolutionary punk hooligans, and the Autobots are, "Wot's all this then?"
@@thecheese4255 I tried to make it silly at least. Give it the image of Megatron spray-painting an anarchy symbol in an alley, and Optimus showing up with a Bobby helmet and a truncheon.
@@AlexReynard Yeah… I mean you gotta recognize there is a story of political conflict to consider This can be volatile tho… some ppl will get very emotional and start gate keeping I guess I play it safe by trying to limit myself to filtering the matter thru another IP, D&D’s alignment system Prime is CG, Megatron is LE, etc. And your summation was well thought out I just know there’s a Pandora’s box here that can be very damaging once opened in a fan base This is a fun channel That’s all I need it to be
