Here, Sundet (who’s also from Kazakhstan) was in a Russian opera contest, and invited Dimash to join him for a (non-scoring) duet - with fabulous results!
One of the many great things about Dimash is his incredible musical diversity. He introduces styles of music that most people would never listen to normally. This performance is of course musical theatre although the baritone in this piece is clearly an operatic classically trained singer. Dimash as always can't be categorized as he always performs in a multitude of styles and vocal ranges.
I love that people listening to Dimash listen to so many genres and languages that they would not be exposed to if just focusing on Western pop singers.
You could say, he killed that!😆 Seriously though, this is one duet I'd love Dimash and Sundet to re-record now that Dimash has expanded his range downwards as well as up, and developed a so much richer and fuller deep baritone voice that gives my goosebumps goosebumps and just wow, leaves me (almost!) speechless - not that I'm complaining though, because this was just spectacular! Sundet's gorgeously dark bass tones combined with Dimash's light tenor, Dimash's high and super-long soprano-esque phrases that he somehow manages to sing with just one breath, and then (my favourite part) when he leaves opera behind and allows "pop" Dimash to come out for that passionate last segment of their duet that he pours so much feeling into - I love it! Thanks so much guys, for another great reaction - and keep on reaching up! All the very best to you both, with much love from over here in the UK :) 🥰🫶🇬🇧
