this song came out almost 18 years ago and still makes me cry to this day, just like it did in 2005… em is just on another level.

This song came out when my daughter was 5 and it still remains "our song"

this is why I fell for Eminem and his music. Sure inbetween he got some goofy, crazy, tough songs but he kept it real in many songs and let us in into his world and be honest about it. He showed us, he is human, he is just like us with same or similar problems and issues. This is why I love his music from back then so so much. Great story teller. I'm glad y'all felt the song. He made more of those type of songs. Bad husband, arose, castle, darkness (god damn good double, triple meanings in one song), beautiful, not afraid, stroner than I was (to name afew). Its wild that Em dropped this a while before he OD'd! This song & a couple of others seemed like ....he was saying goodbye to his daughter.... Before anything actually happened!

I have a son and a daughter and i have granddaughters and grandsons, your absolutely spitting facts and its not a love thats more or less its just different, Id move heaven and earth for my daughter if i could but with my son id help him figure it out but make him do the heavy lifting, maybe im wrong for that but i want my son to be able to protect and provide and push through whatever for his family and dont get it twisted my daughter is independent and stands on her own. What makes y’all different from most reactors in my opinion is that y’all give input on what you’re seeing and why it’s appreciated. A lot of reactors I feel literally just give a facial reaction. And that’s it. Keep it pushing and get the “content” out. But when y’all give input on the experience itself it gives us that feedback we originally came for. Don’t necessarily need every bar broken down but y’all give us an insight on what’s going on in the head when most reactors just put on a face and call it good. This is GOLD!!

He made this when he was going to retire to explain to his fans why he was retiring, it was putting too much pressure on his family life and affecting his kids him being away so much. Im glad he found a balance and Akon once said Em treats his career like a normal job starting and finishing at a certain time even if he's in the middle of doing a track.

Em is definitely making up for lost time the best he can. He stopped touring to be with Hailey. This wasn't just a song.. this is life! He did what had to be done and stayed true to his word.. he gave them the security and then stayed around.

I remember going to AA with my parents. I remember being in their support group and belong them rehearse their prayers. I grew up in the day an age celebrators hid the rehab trips. Not Marshall… straight honest life he’s livin is out on paper and laid on track for us all to take in.

This has always been a great song but this hits so much harder after becoming a parent.

When Em came out and his first 4 albums i was Young, So songs Like "Rock Bottom" "Mockingbord" "When I'm Gone" "Cleaning out my closet" and even "Stan" were not in my playlist, till i got older and experience life and those songs started to hit very different... Mockinbird and When i'm Gone, rn are my top favs after my daughter... when I was a teen Cleaning ou my closet hit me very hard because was when I friend told me about the abuse him and his sister suffered bc his mom whom had Munchausen by proxy.... and in the video you see his "mother" putting stuff in his cereal that's fuck up!!

I remember carrying when I first saw this video. This is why he is a living legend! He rapped the truth. So great and realist!

My son is a little over a year now and every time I leave the house it’s the hardest thing. He runs up to the door and is crying. I can hear him outside the house. I couldn’t imagine having to spend extended time away from him.

I'm about to go into my second job, working midnights part time just to make ends meet. Decided to sacrifice sleep so I can still see my kids when they get home from school. This song hits home, gotta do what ya gotta do for the kids.

Crazy thing is Eminem turned down 50 million dollars all he had to do was tour with 50 cent and G-Unit too i think. He didnt wanna do it cause he didn't wanna miss big events in Hailies life, he chose time with his daughters over 50 million

Eminem changed after this song IMO, he released music less often, sporadically dropping bangers then disappearing kinda like what he's known for doing now and I imagine it was so he could enjoy his family more and let the spotlight fade to have a somewhat normal life again but he also told his fans slim shady was gone, he layed him to rest.. there was gonna be no more shock value type lyrics and r*pe, murder, chainsaws etc that got him noticed at the beginning of his career.. "Shady made me,but tonight shady's rockabye baby"

This song was wrote at the height of Eminem’s drug addiction I’ve always felt like he didn’t think he’d be around much longer and this song was his goodbye to kids
