This song was dedicated to Lili Melgar. She’s was the nanny for Shakira’s kids who is the one who informed her about her husband cheating. The line shakira sings about her ex father in law is because they fired her and did not pay her compensation. Shakira I believe has rehired her and dedicated the song to her because of this situation.
