This is definitely YG’s brand of hip-hop for their idol groups. Usually more subdued. Akin to iKON’s “Rhythm Ta”. You usually get the harder hip-hop from their solo artists. GD, Taeyang, Mino, Bobby, etc (guess they’re technically not solo artists, but they have solo projects).

When i hear NCT, i hear YG sound & vibes on their songs. And for treasure in MMM they show YG original sound which is hip hop based. All of YG Stan will know that, so i think MMM don’t have NCT vibes in return NCT have that YG vibes and that’s ok because YG sound is really LIT ⚡️⚡️⚡️

My friend also said this song has nct vibes and she was expecting Taeyong to pop up anytime lol. But I personally believe being a yg stan since 2009, that this song had the most yg vibe out of all their releases. Regardless of that, this is my fav.

Its actually has the yg unique hiphop banger vibe tbh, like if u listen to CRUSH of 2ne1 way back 2014, BANG BANG BANG of bigbang, SINOSIJAK AND RYTHM TA of iKON. It was somehow called futuristic hiphop vibe in yg that they produce since 2ne1 era. I guess the only difference is that its has a well form choreograph which sm usually known for. In yg, they dont really focus on choreo before so its really different when watching treasure do full choreo performance. .

as a yg stan this mmm of treasure has a complete yg style base on the raps, vocals and even the mv.. this mv is simple compare to boy and i love you, but this mv is very hard and well match to the song... i think these all chapters of treasure has the evolution.. for a young boy, adolescent and now.. boy and i love you has a yg style in their drops and in the refreshing way.. but this one from start to finish is dark and hard definitely yg... and on the note haruto's rap tone always reminds me of top of bigbang. treasure is flexing their futuristic yg building match their white outfit that looks like a astronaut suit haha

imo as a YG stan since 09, MMM really does give a YGxSM vibes. I also thought of NCT with this comeback but def the swag and unique vibe of YG is still pretty prevalent. One thing that makes it really YG for me is how expressive EVERYONE's faces are. They aren't trying to look handsome-cool. They look more gritty-cool with their expressions especially Hyunsuk. They aren't scared to look a little frightening or ugly to suit the intensity of the song. I also remember in some old videos that YG trainees are trained to express while lipsyncing words to what was supposed to be purely dance dance prac (no singing). If you look closely you see a number of members lip syncing to whoever was rapping or singing. Jihoon during Yoshi's part for example. I think this little detail gives audiences a little extra to look at when they perform. Something that rises above a perfectly synced choreo.

I was getting NCT vibes as well. Their title tracks so far have grown on me eventually but I have liked all the b-sides immediately, especially Orange!

YG started the hip hop era in Kpop. Most people would agree with me thinking YG is going back to its old YG Hip-hop vibes through this Treasure comeback. Even the B-side, "Orange" still has this old YG sad love songs. Both tracks, at least for me, has this Bigbang Vibes for hip-hop and sad love songs. And I love it. Boy and I love you are so good for mainstream Kpop. But as someone who has seen YG contents since 2009, I love this and my babies are not playing. They are slaying and I feel like a proud mom, watching their growth from the start.

MMM is definitely Yg style. Nct for me sounds more like yg than sm. As a fan of kpop since 2010 I rarely hear strong beats, powerful raps and hip hop vibes from SM as I felt they were more focused on the vocals. Before sm used to hide their rappers but with Nct i think they are giving them the spotlight. Maybe that's the reason you can hear nct singing to this song
