i think the reason they a lot says that this is so 2nd gen is 1. YG wants to retain the kpop feeling and the boys themselves are into older kpop groups aside from YG bg seniors... they appreciate other groups from other company too... and i love the fact that for some reason they are retaining the real color of kpop vs being too westernized... i mean it's not bad but the true color of kpop should not be lost... The members are producing a lot for their albums and they are really into 2nd gen (Bigbang, Shinee, they even invited a member of Big Mama as a featuring on their album) and it has this nostalgic feel even more on their B-side. It's often mixed with Jpop/Jrock influences as 3 members are Japanese.
But to be fair, during the SKZ survival show, only 3 (Yedam included) of the TREASURE debut line up was there. The one who participated was Silver Boyz, the earlier senior BG line up of YG. So technically, I cant say that was TRSR vs SKZ but YG vs JYP. Also, Yedam ate that battle up, to the point that Yedam’s cover of Nothing’s Holding Me Back was needed to be deleted because it was gaining more than 40million views, bigger than the whole episode. ☺️
They aren't TREASURE if they comeback to just follow what trend. For rapper's you knew YG each rapper's or groups has their own flows when it comes to rap, and rapping for me not all about fast its about your own flows/styles and also i love how the rap part didn't overpower the uniqueness of vocals. The Rap line has their own unit song's you can check that.
The thing I don’t like about some other boygroups rap line is yes they do sound cool but I find most of them TRY TOO HARD to make the raps sound good and it’s always these little 2 or 4 bars types of raps, while’s Treasure they have fun with it and utilize more of their versatility (you’ll hear in their discography)rather than fast paste raps which is good now and then but not all the time and not for EVERY song it’s just not needed. But if u want to hear Treasure rap line some more I recommend -VOLKNO -GOAT -I LOVE YOU -MMM -RUN -TMA INTRO ( audio version not TMA live) LET IT BURN (JP release)
All Treasure songs are always catered and structured for concerts. Some may not like the audio version but all their songs, title track and bside, are soooo good at concert. And YG music has always have the repetitive kind and empty chorus, and you're right it's either you like it or not like it. Treasure Makers have (incl me) have our own fave title track but so far if you are fond of this kind of music it sounds good. Music is a preference but it doesn't mean that you like some group other group is not good it's just a matter of preference as I say. Been a fan of Kpop since 2nd gen and so far for me YG Artist songs are my preference. Their chorus, bridge and outro are always the one that I look forward to.
Well articulated i cant complain about an agency catering songs towards concerts. But objectively focusing on the sound is better because you can always rearrange any song for concert very easily(you can also just switch the instrumental with a live band). So spotify listeners win and concert listeners win. With the YG approach you're stuck. And you cant do the reverse

I don't think that SKZ and ATEEZ's music is suitable for Spotify. To me, it sounds like pure noise. I don't listen to them because their music doesn't fit well on the platform. Their live performances also don't offer anything new; the arrangements and sound remain the same
You have to see their live performance, they are so crazy and so free in expressing their songs and don't forget the adlibs they give make them one of the best boy groups has a stage presence best in gen 4

I will say for Treasure you will see a huge disparity with their title tracks and b-sides. Whilst like you articulated their title tracks are formulatic, their b-sides are very versatile and they've covered an array of genres from metal to reggae. B-sides I recommend reacting is: Darari (went viral on tiktok), B.O.M.B, G.O.A.T (rap line's recent comeback) , Clap (reggae feel) and I Want Your Love (party club banger).
It's YG so expect the party part at the end. It's very fun when you listen in audion but those party part make it even more fun live. I know cause I've been attending their concerts
Yeah, that’s okay cause that's your opinion but for me, I love how the trio rappers of Treasure. No offense to other boy group rappers cause their rap style is not my taste. I still remember the first time hearing their song and when the rapper's line come I will be like damn I found my taste finally. Just an info, There is 2 types of TEUME; - Teume Who likes their tittle track (they like party/concert vibes or just loving the YGvibes sound) (i'm this type of teume lol cuz for me what i like is their live performance specially concert thats sound 100% better than their audio ver) - Teume who likes their B-side (this one they like diverse music or just want to enjoy their music& chill cuz their b-side are more versitile u want hiphop, jpop, raggae, ballad, edm party...etc everything in there mix with their "treasure sounds") (maybe if u became a Teume u will be this type cuz from what i see on your reaction & many of treasure fanboys in the internet that i see are this type too😅)

Most of their title song with MV were very party/concert songs. But to us, we really like this type of song. 'orange' was (maybe?) the only ballad MV that they have. If you looking for different flow, vocals, high note and those singer skills, just check out their discography (their b-side) + live because they do show the highnote, different rap skills and the emotion you can feel from them . They don't really show everything in their Title songs and to us as their fans, we always think that a good singer, its not always about high note because we know our fav can do the high note but all about skills. how they can control and they Excell the skills that most of the idols didn't have. About rap, we do like fast rap but we actually focus more to the flow. Being fast obviously an easy task to them, but good rap flow is not be found these days. a good rapper is not always about 'rap fast' so yeah all treasure fans just like how they deliver everything. Fun fact, treasure is one of the best 4th gen idol who can sing live even their songs always with hard choreo and they love to perform with hand mic. So they do focus with vocal and not just dance. I think it's very intentional that the rapline does not overpower the vocals of the songs. Treasure's brand comes with the all-rounder approach. The rapline has a unit song named Volkno while our vocal trio has "The Way To" . Treasure's songs are not the in-your-face hard-hitting songs. They are subtle and they eventually become evident when they are performed live. Perhaps their most hard-hitting song would be MMM, and while the song introduced our strong rapline, the falsettos of the vocal line stood out still. Their B-sides have more versatility as far as genre is concerned and maybe there, you'll find the Spotify listening music you're looking for.
