My now husband Herman converted nearly 20yrs ago. We met rock climbing and i owned a yoga studio and didnt know Christ. He brought me into the church, weve been married over 11yrs we homeschool six children Mark John Luke Matthew Faith and just had baby James Herman Aug 9th on Hermans feast day. I cannot say i am a treasure but the church is absolutely a treasure to me.

It's so hard to find anyone here, I have a small farm in Anchor Point Alaska, work full time for the gvt, am Orthodox and go to All Saints of America Orthodox Church in Homer, I pray for a wife, ask St Xenia to pray for me, but its hard to come home to an empty house esp without my dog who passed thanks for all your videos

Met my wife after being divorced for almost thirty yrs and was completely content with being single forever. When we met I fell in love with her immediately but she was a drunk addict. Told her my feelings but I wouldn’t deal with the drugs. I waited for her for eight years and finally she was ready to get off of drugs. Took her to church with me (she had never heard of the Orthodox Church) and as I had a decade earlier fell in love with it the first day. She joined and the next year we were married. It was the best seven years of my life but she due to her health issues passed away before our eight year anniversary. Coming up on the tenth anniversary of her passing in a couple months and I can still say the time waiting for her was worth it.

I want to believe this, and struggle to grow as much in the likeness of Christ as I can each day. Should I simply continue until the right woman makes herself known to me? Or should I pursue a woman if I think she could be a good wife, like I used to do before my conversion? If I reach a certain age, say 40, and have not met the right woman, is that an indication that God wants me to be a monastic?

I became Orthodox and the first time I decided to ask the Mother of God for her prayers, that if it be God's will to please send me a chaste woman who loves God. I met her just two weeks later. 8 months later we married. She isn't Orthodox, she is a reformed Baptist, but was baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. But, she is learning about the Orthodox church and goes to church with me. I'm not putting pressure on her to become a catechumen, I'm just letting the Holy Spirit guide us..but I am very very happy. God bless you all and may you too find a wife. This was all after more than a decade of a bad first marriage, porn addiction and being far from God in many ways. I asked him to restore me, joined the church and gave my life to him. Put him above whether you ever get married. That's what I had to do. Seek ye first the kingdom. ❤️🙏

Father I turn 30 in a month. My father left when I was 13. I have debts taken on for godless siblings and parents that I won't be able to pay back until I am 40, and even if I do so, 25 years of abuse at the hands of women has driven me into a deep pit of unnatural bitterness towards the fairer sex. I had no greater wish in life than to be a father and yet I find myself relating more with the prophet Jeremiah every day. I only truly found Christ in the last few months, but I will pray for other people's success in these endeavors.

The issue no one is addressing is how to reach out to modern women. We need a concerted effort of Presbyteras and other orthodox women to reach out to these lost women online. It’s hard for a modern woman to listen to older men. We need orthodox women bringing content to modern women in a way they will receive it without compromising the faith. And it shouldn’t be political/social. Orthodox women should share how Christ heals the concerns that modern women have, ie anxiety, shame,self worth, therapy, etc etc.

Because due to FemDems they taught modern women to be narcissists to think of their personal needs first, they don't know how to have a relationship with another person except on social media. Modern women need to learn how to have one - on - one discussions with other human being, how to form a relationship with another person. Know what true love is, not need of immediate gratification. Stop stripping men of their manhood, learn to respect their right to free speech.

Part of working on yourself is letting the light of Christ shine through you in all aspects of your life. Women at your workplace, for instance, should see how healing your presence is and as Father has said before, it should not be able to be explained in any other way than through the love of Christ. Women talk, too. Don't underestimate the waves one pious person (man or woman) can make.

Yes! I was thinking the exact same thing! There's so many Orthodox men on YT: Roots of Orthodoxy, Father Spyridon Bailey, Jonathan Pageau, etc. Where are all the female equivalents? Where are the female versions of these Orthodox male influencers? The only example I can think of is Sister Vassa, who ended up being a modernist disaster. It's a shocking discrepancy.

To you online who are listening, Father Josiah made a point during the visit that wasn't mentioned in this video, and that is the fact that this unprecedented resurgence into the Church is still very new, and the numbers show no signs of slowing down. This is tied to what he mentioned of Protestant and Roman Catholic churches being majority women; they will be coming into the Orthodox Church more and more in the near future. So have patience and faith in God, and use this time on Earth wisely to build yourself in His Holy Image.

Young guy here in college!! Thanks Ftr, but I have to be honest. My heart is drawn towards a woman that is not of the faith. I pray for her salvation and hope she feels the same way for me. I’m on a path in the Orthodox faith that is making my relationship stronger with Christ and it’s all just difficult at the moment. I’m really just tired of it all. May God help me and through the intercession of the Holy Theotokos and the saints, please save me. It’s hard to not be discouraged, I genuinely cry about it. But I have faith and believe the Lord is good!

In my 30s and alone, otherwise successful. Seek the kingdom and worry not about the world. You are following the faith which will actually make you worthy and ready for a right and healthy relationship. Your faithfulness may be what saves her, though you may never possess her. Separate those issues out, and know that God will give you want you need in time. You want the right thing, and you certainly don't want the heartache of the wrong thing. All I have suffered this past decade is at my own hand and from my own will. Better to submit to the Father's will and recieve his good gifts in His own time.

I wasted all my strong youth chasing fminist atheist women here in Scandinavia, I did not know any better because I was brought up in a single parent home by an atheist hedonist mother. Thou I have much experience dating and been with many women, always with intent to be serious and start a family, I have been cheated on so many times and now last 5 years had zero interest in modern women without faith, because most of them enjoy the buffet of men that line up and play with them on demand. Don't waste your time like I did, find someone worth investing your time in, who respects you and who sees all the flaws in modern pop culture, because everything that is wrong men and women today, and why marriage is braking down and less kids being born, it's all due to popculture/hedonism, fminism, socialism and atheism.

I havent been part of a church for many years, but thankfully the Holy Spirit has given me the strength to obstain from romantic relationships for all these years. Praise God he led me to start my Orthodox journey and Lord willing I find a wife in the Church, but im also feeling led to monastic life. Either way Father, Son, and Holy Spirit lead me and keep me on the purpose you have for me.

How I found my wife almost 40 years ago. I was a couple of years past a messy divorce, was acting like a playboy, and finally decided that was not a life I wanted. I wanted to get married again, so I prayed, and kept praying. I told God that I knew I was an idiot when it came to picking women, and since He was my Father, and in the Bible a man's father often chose a wife for him, would He please choose the right one for me? Two weeks later I started dating the woman I was to marry, a marriage that eventually produced 5 children and led us to Orthodoxy.

As much as i would love a wife. Im already getting older and older. Im not in the mood for games or for these tests that many women play that do nothing but tell them if their man is a good wallet and a good doormat. I hold a job that is not very attractive to women. 1 Corinthians 7:9 Paul said "But if they do not contain themselves, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to be burnt.". The utmost important treasure is faith. Live a life of faith, focus on yourself, and you will know whether your path is of service or monastic life or a family through god. No matter which way, you are well prepared if you have lived a faithful life. At least this is the message I get from Father Josiah and this is a very balanced advice.

I'm not saying you should expect to change a person at their core but my husband and I have shaped ourselves together and I belive he will do what's best for me. Fail. Do these things to bring glory to god. The mathematic reality is that finding treasure will not happen for many young men. Go forward into this challenging possibility like a christian man, with steadfast faith and resolve to serve christ through hardship. The numbers are unfavorable and we must prepare these young Christian for hardship instead of incentivizing piety with a treasure that does not exist for many. There is a path for all

Data analysis & statistical trends (barring an act of God, a type cultural/political/geopolitical shifting catastrophic event, or some kind of unprecedented mass repentance) show that most young men seeking marriage will either have to: - Marry a late 20's or older former promiscuous woman. Good luck trying to even gently correct her bad habits, only a freshly sealed pickle jar is capable of humbling the modern young woman - Marry a single mother (40% of all new births are to unwedded mothers - big oof). I worry about this as possible fornication or adultery with another man's wife even if they & she are "officially" divorced - Pick a foreign bride which has it's own set of cultural/legal/language challenges or - Remain celibate The latter option will be forced upon many (not saying all however) disappointed single men seeking to build a family with a good Christian woman. I would say however that even in your grief that you may think is too much to bare, the Lord may be sparing your life from something much worse including possible eternal damnation. Young men, my advice is to be grateful with what God has given you & trust that He'll give you everything that you could ever need even though it may not be everything that you "want" in this life

I can certainly agree with you Father about the Protestants, I do take some issue with your opinion about roman Catholicism bhut then again that has been an issue ever since Saints Peter and Paul. I will however give the Orthodox Church an enormous love for their rejection of homosexuality and what i coin as gayriage. I will treat them kindly and hope that they see the error of their ways, but just like Lob, I will not turn around to see what befalls them.

I’d argue it’s even more difficult for single women in the mid-thirties in the church to find a spouse. Many waiting for years with abstinence in the church. The churches are full of men a decade younger, in their early to mid twenties, and priests have told me that in spite of all the new young men, only one or two in their parishes are marriageable. I’d agree. And no young men are looking our direction. Or they are poisoned with red pill ideology, I’m a bad way. This is my experience in the church, my best friend’s and a few other good women I know. It’s so depressing and I wish priests would talk about it.

I m a Catholic man and i won't become orthodox but i understand what you say about us but i assure you there are some good manly preacher priests in Catholicism like here in Brazil padre Paulo Ricardo and the monk order of the heralds of the Gospel which altough has men and women separated of course they have discipline of a military since they were founded by a former military and was idealized to be an order of knights and i think the church should be able to welcome men and women

That may be a discussion for you and your priest, generally though they don't exactly allow remarriages, it's usually (in rare cases) permitted if the individual is young, lost their spouse to sudden death or divorce.

Unfortunately, it's very hard to find a decent woman in the West. There simply isn't enough women that want to sincerely build a loving relationship, many because they have a lot of baggage and emotional damage. It's a sad affair and it will not change for the better.

Well, come to Orthodox countries, this could be an option. In Serbia we have a lot of young woman who are looking for man in church, but average age when man (in general) turns to God and church is 50+...so years pass by and we see lots of younger woman who stayed alone since they did not want to marry man out of curch (and these men are not generally interested in church woman to be honest, they are looking for more "urban" experiences lets call it that way). So our man, in or out of curch, are not getting married in general before 40years old. When you go to church services you can see always 2-3x more woman than man, and man who are there are 45+ yo. So...In Greece we saw only very old people in curch (as majority), that could be difficult..Romania - no clue, Bulgaria -? Russia..

This is one of the most encouraging messages I've ever heard regarding men's faith and marriage. I've been non denominational for 7 years and I've definitely had many troubles with ministry, worship, fellowship, finding a wife etc.. The feminization is real on this side. I feel almost castrated psychologically trusting my pastors and the leadership in my church. So many ministries here focus on fellowship with little genuine exercising of living out the faith (ministries involving sports, video/board games, talking about life). The women in non denominational churches I've been to complain about men, and majority of the women who are pursued by men for marriage reject them or leave them for small reasons and then proceed to backbite them after, driving them away. It doesn't matter to a lot of Christian women if the man is devout and faithfully biblical from what I have seen and experienced. I try to be a strong example of Christ with my brothers and sisters, but it gets tiring. Praying for other men in the church to cling to Christ no matter what the enemy throws at them.

The ancient practices of the Orthodox Church are not just arbitrary and preserved for the sake of tradition. It doesn't surprise me that Christians who have lost so much of the actual roots of their faith also do not live out the Christian life in fullness. You will only find this in the Orthodox Church, the Original Church. It is a much higher calling and requires sacrifice. Imagine how difficult it is today for women to resist temptations today and remain humble, chaste, even many wear veils. But the fruits of this devotion are an image of Heaven on earth. Consider inquiring into Orthodoxy.

Fr Josiah, I'd like to preface this by saying: Yes, with God's providence he can work incredible blessings for young men but the observed data analyzing behavioral trends from young women is quite sobering & tragic. I do not have the gift of prophecy but unless something like World War 3 happens or we additionally see an unprecedented number of young western women seeking genuine repentance, humility, & holiness, most young men will simply have to make due with the celibate/aesthetic/monastic path. Yes people can change, yes, monumental cultural & political shifts can happen too but for all intents & purposes, some predictions really are essentially fully baked into the cake & completely set in stone - anomalies aside Good news is that these young men may be being preserved for a greater, more glorious calling from the Lord. My hope rests eternally on the strength, righteousness, & goodness of Jesus Christ. And I will not ever feel like I'm "owed" or entitled to something that He never promised me to have to begin anyways. This world is fallen & entropic but our hope must rest eternally in our heavenly master Jesus Christ, regardless of what type of evil, wicked, & demonic nonsense transpires down here. He will lift you up, saving your feet from the net

You should not give in to your bodily desires. Stay single. Stay celibate. That is also encouraging for the young ladies. I am also looking to find a man to share my entire life with. I think that for us it is more difficult because God tries to test our patience even if it takes some months or maybe years. I pray for everyone to find their soulmate but in God.
