This and Zoombinis were my first games when I was maybe 3 in 1999. Educational games back then were so amazing because regular games were being made on the same budget, so something like this was just as solid as anything else you could play.
Quite easily. You can just keep throwing coins to find the treasures (either just checking everywhere or working out the clues from the items you find, kinda working backwards) and catching elves when you run out. It may take a little longer, but otherwise perfectly easy to do
31 years old here. Just got a new washing machine that makes boops and beeps everytime you press a button. It was reminding me of something but I couldn't think of what. This was it. Gonna download, finish a 25 year legacy.
Oh man, I remember our "Computer class" back in elementary school consisting of playing this (and Mavis Beacon) for about 90 minutes. Those were the days.

finally figured out what this game was. I used to play it when I was 3 but I didn't know how to read and didn't have anyone to help me so it took a lot to figure out how to get nets and randomly guess correct answers.
Well, you also do it over and over to get higher star ranks - near the start of the vid the helper butterfly says he needs 52 more treasures to earn the 6-star rank
This game stuck in my memory. Forgot the name, just remembered the premise, seeing it now I realize why it's stuck with me. Think it should be every kids first game.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT I FOUND IT! D: I can't believe what I'm looking at. I've literally been describing this game to friends for about a decade, desperately seeking help trying to remember what the fuck it was. It'd been so long, I was almost certain I'd imagined it. It's amazing to see it, and to read all the comments here of people who've been going through the same personal dilemma. A piece of my childhood has just come back to me, as if from some lovely, distant dimension.
Wow! I used to play this game so much after school. I remember I used to tell my folks I was doing homework on the computer, until the music got me busted. And the music... :)
Fortunately, this game can be downloaded from www.myabandonware.com. I just downloaded it yesterday and it works great. Then, download DosBox. That's all you need to play it. It will work on Windows, i'm not sure how to make it work on mac. I hope you play it again :)
OH MY GOD. This brings back all those memories of me playing this back in preschool, kindergarten and first grade. This game TRULY DEFINES part of my very childhood.
I am so fucking happy right now. I have been trying to find this game for years! I described it to friends and they didnt know what i was talking about. I tried googling it for so long and not finding anything close to this game. I really cannot believe I finally found this game. I played this game so much at school when I was a child and absolutely loved it. I am so happy seeing this game again, it brings back so many memories!

I was just watching a BGR video and something in the video reminded me of this game that I used to play with my friend all the time in the 90s. Searched Google for "90s mountain game" and here I am. The music instantly brought me back.

This was my favorite game! Played hours on this game!! They really need to come out with a collectors PC game on CD of all the awesome game from the 80s to the late 90s that would be awesome!! Definitely the best games ever.
Wow, I havent seen this game since i was 6, I just remembered the name of it for the first time in about 18 years. It is just as i remembered after all these years. I can now die a happy man.
lol This was my fave game as a kid. I used to get so mad at the elves. The sound that would occur when an elf would get some coins used to make me SOOO mad lol.

I use to answer randomly at the questions and got to a stage where I would recognize the answers ang get them all right...Best game ever...what an atmosphere
Oh god I used to play this game all the time at school when I was little. The best was one summer when my family was picked to take home one of the school computers over the summer because then my sister and I could play this all day and finally get to the end. ^^
I think this was one of the first games I ever played, and I don't think i ever beat it! I remember they had a series of games... one was in a highschool, and one was about building cars...
