Great idea. But, I see the potential for missing targets because it produces the same tone as a coin until the discrimination kicks in depending on the size of the iron target. Too bad it wasn't 2-tone. Which seems like the path they should have gone. That would be key. Still a great idea.

Yep...like I always said, don't choose a pinpointer because it's the one that goes deepest....this is a great tool, and with discrimination, it is a must for us gold prospectors :D

If one is looking for cultural artifacts, iron is not necessarily "junk." Great video and nice plaid shirt too.

Hi fellow treasure hunters, greetings from Poland. I want to share with you the sad message that from 01.01.2018 metal detecting in Poland will be illegal and all detectorists will be criminals. The police already have new procedures to control every detectorist they encounter. Theoretically it will be possible to ask for the permission but you have to get one not only from the land owner but also from the competent authority. The whole procedure is taking age. And the permission is granted for just one day and field so basicly it is very hard to obey that layw and practice our hobby. I just had to said it. RIP Polish treasure hunters :(

My dream is to have an Excalibur II detector, but here in my country in Brazil it is very expensive due to taxes I believe that I will never be able to buy this equipment.

I have neodymium magnets on my pick and digger that get a lot of the iron when I'm digging. The Pro-Find 35 would be very useful for the remaining ferrous debris left in the hole/plug, making recovery even faster. I like it! Thanks for the video!

Just a bit of advice for when your showing the depth capabilities of the pinpointer, place the metal item at the beginning of the chart and move the pinpointer closer and closer to the target. You will get a better idea of the distance. Keep up the good work. GL and HH

Depth always matters and as long as you can scale it back if need be or use a proportional response there's no harm in having it. The purpose of a pinpointer is to pinpoint the exact location of the target the primary machine detects. This ability is not lost when a pinpointer has max range. I have the two deepest on the market, the Bullseye TRX and Tek-Point. They are so good in fact that 9 times out of ten I can double check my pinpoint from above ground before I even dig so I don't waste time chasing targets that were angled. In a trashy setting I use my TRX and it doesn't get distracted like you'd think as deep as it is. In high mineralization and low trash I use the Pulse Induction powered Tek-Point. I wanted a good reason to keep the ProFind 35 and add to my arsenal, but it doesn't do well in high mineralization, the depth is half of what I get out of my primary pinpointers, and iron tone doesn't work until you're already on top of a distracting target. I think it's a good first step, and eventually all top models will all have full disc and other features, but for now I can't see giving up 2 inches or so for something that kinda works.

Increase the sensitivity about 5X by sliding a large coin closer to the coil end until it just about starts beeping then back until it just about stops. I get beeps on a 0.035g gold grain one third an inch away!

Is it possible to set it to vibrate only?

Mine does not work in that manner at all. The iron ID is worthless, works sometimes within a small distance from target only. Before and after that particular distance, the normal tone sounds.

I used to own the 25 pinpointer. Then got back into the hobby brought a new detector and it came with a profind 15, and it's very average, as in disrsnce. So should I get the 35 and try to sell the 15

I received a Profile 35 for Xmas. Second time using it and it is going crazy. It goes off at the slightest pressure and then keeps beeping, louder and softer and when turning it from a horizontal to vertical position. Is it defective or user error. I'm about to return it. Got it through Amazon US.

We don't care if it picks up iron or non iron targets. We dig all targets And check the whole. Give us a good pinpointer that last and don't break after a few months.GL&HH

What sensitivity level was it set at when doing those tests?

I like the idea but should be rechargeable like the Deus my Deus has never died on me in the field having to install batteries is old technology

At the beginning of the video and when your target is touching the pinpointer, technically you have already found it...so that carries no value at all to anyone. Have the pinpointer positioned about 1-2” away from the targets, and then can I clearly hear that there is a difference? Let me finish watching the video to find out...maybe.......
