When Avatar began airing I shipped Kataang all the way, but then somewhere along the way with Zuko's transformation, I began to like Zutara. I honestly think that 3 seasons was too little for a show full of potential. Glad that it's making a comeback in Netflix though!

I get the appeal of Zutara as enemies to lovers and fire and water and they are similar but I think because they are so similar they shouldn't be together. Both Katara and Zuko are impulsive and stubborn, they have a tendency to lash out at people they care about and that can make for a toxic relationship. Aang and Katara have a relationship built off friendship, mutual respect, and trust. After losing her mother, Katara felt that she had to take on a more maternal role, because of this she can forget to have fun, Aang provides fun in her life and they provide emotional support for each other. While I love Zuko, he's not always the most fun person. Zutara would be too serious and Kataang is adorable

I dont know what zutara shippers are on about. They only had a few moments with each other and in none of the moments they showed attraction, just empathy because they have simular situations. Aang and Katara saw each other grow up, just because they are seperated by 1.5 - 2 years doesnt mean they cant love each other? Aang gave up the avatar state for Katara at first But because they where in trouble he had to use it. And did you see how broken katara looked when Aang fell when hit by the lightning? She showed interest at him in season one already and so did he. Just because she said “he’s just a friend” did not hide that she definitely had a thing for him. Also saying “the creators wanted zuko and katara together” doesnt mean anything anymore, Zuko and katara didnt have romantical chemistry at all, just empathy for each other- know the difference for Gods sake lmao. Also people saying kataang was rushed, uhm they already showed interest in season one what are yall on about- like if they would do katara and Zuko together THAT would be rushed. Also personally I feel like katara and Zuko would break up anyways. And lastly the moment where Zuko jumped infront of katara, he wouldve done it for any of the Gaang members, he didnt do it because he had a thing for her, he did it because he seriously wanted to protect and help them. smh the amount of people getting angry over how zutara didn’t end up happening is ridiculous😭🤣yes the concept of opposites is cool but they had no chemistry at all . Katara and Zuko is my endgame . Katara was the only one who trusted Zuko and she said it herself . Just imagine a water triber dating a fire warrior. Even though they are polar opposites that’s what makes it beautiful and unexpected. People say they barely had any chemistry but Zuko freaking took lightning for her and people act like that never happened ? I feel like Katara and Aang were a brother and sister relationship but I’m not saying they had no chemistry because they did . Probably more than Zutara. I just think Zutara was a better ship throughout there little bit of chemistry.

Katara and Aang were always meant to be together and all those Zutara shippers are kidding themselves otherwise. They say Zutara had development... what development? They spent the first book as enemies fighting each other, got some time in the caverns in book 2 and becoming friends for a moment then he betrays her. Even though he becomes good and they become friends she hates him the most until he helps find her mother's killer. True she looks very concerned when he takes the lightning meant for her but that was purely out of friendship, same with Ty Lee saving Mai. Aang and Katara were developed from the start, Katara has been seen by fans as a big sister or mother figure, but that's her nature, the runaway proved that.
