IN California "j-walking" is defined as walking in between two light controlled intersections. There wasn't a traffic signal visible, the road was blocked with police vehicles, and the sergeant called him over. When does a police officer physically (hands on) detain you while a traffic citation is being written? The sergeant and surrounding officers need to be reviewed by IA and the DAs office. Totally disgraceful ... Brings shame to LASO and Law Enforcement as a whole! 😡

All PDs over there are obviously swimming in money and hopelessly over-staffed for so many units to be there kicking rocks while the Sgt drums up a citation to bolster his ego. I think it is SO funny. In the US it is near impossible to get ANY decent job without AT least a high school degree, no criminal record and a satisfactory job record and increasingly a decent credit score with 1 or less bankruptcies. But to control a portion of the $7 TRILLION WE THE PEOPLE pay annually all you need is to apply or have enough friends to vote for you. Sad that no cops were willing to stand up to the crooked Sargent because they’d probably be putting a target on their back. This is the sad thing about police. They have no incentive to snitch on bad cops, in fact it’s quite the opposite. The safe thing for them to do is to fall in line and not question bad behavior or risk being left out in the cold by the rest of the department.

In most of the US, making false accusations against a citizen can be unlawful and criminally/civilly punishable. Calling someone a terrorist because they are recording government controlled taxpayer buildings can be considered defamation and you can be sued. The taxpayer pays for the building, the department and the employees to operate it and the expensive interior/exterior decoration, then get accused of being a terrorist attempting to "use" the system. I would like to see more videos depicting the excessive cost the taxpayer is billed for the ridiculous response tyrants show for being "audited". Many government agencies are tagged to "protect" the citizens. You can search the record of a business to determine if you should hire them. Would you hire a company that has a record of not fulfilling their customer agreements? NO, I wouldn't either. Yet when calling upon "Law enforcement" to protect, it is not at all uncommon the responding personnel have been fired from multiple departments and have cost the taxpayer hundreds of thousands in civil lawsuits for poor/criminal job record.

And if the cop is even just barely but technically right in citing for an infraction, the lawyer in the robe will go along with it. The various courts throughout the decades have made it quite clear that there is such a thing as minimal, acceptable infringements on our Rights. There is no sign that that attitude is ever going to change.

My mind boggles and runs away from me with fascination, I'm so curious to know what would have happened if you didn't cross the road, he would have pushed up on you screaming trespasser. There was no de escalation, for a trespasser complaints 5 cars rolled up and gave a jaywalking ticket and the left, wtf.

I'm not sure the California Law but doesn't there have to be an accessible cross walk near by inorder to be jay walking. If there is no crosswalk, I do believe you are allowed to cross the road.

All government employees need to be in-serviced on the constitution, law, and how to interact with the public and repeat it every year. Certify them and when they infringe on the constitution they should lose their qualified immunity and be fined personally. This is getting ridiculous that they don't know the constitution they took an oath to.

Law Enforcement IS the ONLY profession, I've ever seen, who doesn't have to know the requirements of their job. If you are an Electrician, Plumber, Roofer, Delivery Driver, Secretary, Beautician/ Barber, Cashier, Manager, Cook, Janitor... etc. and you don't know the Laws and Regulations of that job and how to execute your responsibilities within those parameters.... YOU WOULD BE FIRED AND IN SOME PROFESSIONS.... THROWN IN JAIL/ PRISON. Law Enforcement encourages and rewards INCOMPETENCE !!
