Just rescued a baby like this and the same thing, she been in heaven since the day she came home with me. I feel bad to cause idk what to do for her eye and it looks like the same as the kitty in the video.
I also have 4 cats their names (oldest to youngest) is Gizmo (my moms), Selest (my sisters), Jinx (mine), and tiger the second (my nanas (grandma in German)we used to have another tiger but he passed away)
We rescued my kitten 12 years ago who also had an infected eye, but it was too far gone. We had to have her eye removed, but she never had any problems. She's the cutest little fighter! She's 12, and still the size of a kitten! The doctors never thought she'd live, but because we gave her a chance, she thrived! I love what you do!
I'm currently going through this with my two fosters! They're almost 8 weeks, but they were born with a severe upper respiratory infection and we're really struggling in getting it to go away. They're strong little kitties, though, so we're very hopeful! Thank you for sharing!
Hi Hannah, our adult cat used to get eye infections frequently so our vet showed us how to treat it. He said to always clean from the outside corner of the eye towards the inside (towards the nose), instead of the other way around. The tear duct is in the inside corner so you would then be cleaning in a more natural direction. I hope you read this. :)
You have inspired me to start fostering kittens. I have always been a big cat lover but I never realized how much fostering can help a kitten or a cat. If everything goes well i will be fostering two, 2 month old kittens this week. Thank you so much for making this world a better place.

OMG this video just saved my sanity! I found a pregnant mama kitty and took her in. The kittens are a few days shy of 3 weeks. One of them has an eye that has been stuck shut in the am for 2 days and some yellow discharge. I was very worried. I watched this video and you recommended Terramycin, which I have. I used a tiny dot on a qtip and within one day, it's looking better. Thank you so much from the bottom of my animal loving heart! 💓
What if the kitten that is 3weeks old has his eyes closed because of the eyebooger? Should i force it to open? I noticed that when i force it to open there are some white liquids flowing out off his eyes.
@@wroicee3744 I wouldnt force it open. Try to clean off the eye boogers on the out side of the eye as gently as possible with a warm wash cloth. then place the salve right on the slit where the eye would open with a qtip.

Thank you lady. I started this treatment yesterday and my 6 kittens are showing signs of recovery. They are slowly gaining energy and becoming playful.
I feel sad because I had a nursing mom and her two kittens come into my life. The mom and one of the kittens had upper respiratory and eye infections. The mom was fine after medicine, but one of the kitten's eyes never went back to normal. It looks like his third eyelid went over the eye and never retracted off. Both kittens are now healthy, happy, and thriving as adults, but I feel sad that perhaps, if I had gotten them sooner, I might have been able to save the kitten's eye. So thank you so much for putting your process online - if I ever encounter a kitten with an eye infection again, I'll know what to do.
Just found 2 kittens in my yard with the same issue. I been washing their eyes with warm water and Q-Tip for 2 days and seems to be getting better. I just ordered the ointment you recommended so hopefully this will help them heal faster. Your a life saver! Thank you!
I adopted two kittens who had recurring eye infections. The vet said it was a herpes virus. As they got older they stopped getting the infections. Interestingly one of them accidentally scratched me in the eye and I was prescribed the same ointment I had used on them.
Nacho gets pink eye some times! I've perfected the art of pinning him down between my legs and holding his eye open while I put in the drops. Not an easy feat with a 16 lb cat :P
my grandmother has an old 12 year old cat, who get's very, very, upset if you try to give him his eye drops (he has a herpes virus which is causing immune problems and his eyes to be cloudy) and he also gets upset when you try to give him his flea medication, but he's a good old cat.
Thanks for the info! I picked up a stray right outside our house, and seeing as I can't go to the Vet as easily, this is a great way to keep the kitten I got healthy enough to last a while before I can get to the Vet
I am in love with how passionate and competent you are about caring for such young kittens. You inspire me to want to help more kittens. I tend to rescue older ones, but I definitely would love to be educated enough to help younger and/or abandoned kittens
Picked up a baby off the street a few days ago and his eye infection seems to be getting worse. Gonna pick up the Terramycin you mentioned and see if that helps. Would be a lot cheaper than a vet visit, thank you
my grandmother did this each day with five little kittens which we rescued from the garage when they're mother just disappeared, she had her kittens in our garage, and we fed her, but one day she just stopped coming so we took in the kittens and raised them
I have a cat he's 22 years old and tomorrow I have to take him to the vet to get put down because he is very fat and has a tumor. I'm watching these videos to remind me of when he was a kitten 😔😔😔
My vet told me to always show an eye infection to a doctor, so that they can give the correct medication. Of course I think we don't even have the medicine you used here in Finland, at least not prescription free. So happy that this kitty is getting better!

Our Kiki had an eye infection when we picked her up, luckily we were able to bring her home before it was too bad and we got her to the vets the next morning. Thanks for the informative video, as always!

@@kalzara2533 Two days ago, I found a kitten near a dumpster. Took her to vet, found out that she has flu. Her right eye are closed and she's limping. I hope the medication works for her.
thank you! Our new kitten has eye issues, and the vet was "Just keep treating!" she also sneezes, but the vet believes since she had antibiotics at the rescue center, it could just be allergies. It's "Keep a close eye" I LOVE THE Q TIP SUGGESTION, as it's been tough by using our finger! THANK YOU!
Admire your effort dear, you're such an amazing person. Terramycin work well, is an antibacterial ointment to prevent infection. Just one thing, wiping the uninfected eye and infected eye with the same wipe, is a cause of concern as it may be infectious. I saved three kittens. 2 of them have swollen butts and all their eyes are crusty and full with pus. I always gently clean them but the pus glues their eyes together when they sleep 🥺😢

when i got my kitten (6+ years ago) he had an eye infection too. unfortunately it got so bad when i finally got to the vet, that the canal couldnt be opened up anymore. little guy has a teary eye to this day. other than that he is a strong and healthy little man. i love him so much!!
anytime you see the white part of cat/kittens eye, known as the "Third eye" its an issue. and can be related to a much larger issue. that antibiotic she suggested works well but also any eye rinse works well as long as you are doing it up to 3-4 times a day.
My cat who is now 6, has eye infections every now and then but I didn’t know that I could use a q-tip. I felt as if just administering it straight to his eye was better. I’m glad that I learned something new I’m case my cat gets an eye infection again.

Thank you! We just rescued two small litters of kittens and most look very healthy but one little guy has a horrible eye infection. We are calling a vet in the morning the maybe hopefully get this baby some help ❤️

@@nicolodelucia8743 Trap. Neuter. Return. It means the cats get caught, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, chipped, eartipped, and then are released back to their original location. They won't be subject to as many diseases and they won't be having an endless stream of kittens. It reduces aggressive issues between males too, so the cats can live more peacefully.
