My mom needs help... She is at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison, WI and she was diagnosed with VRE. She has a Catheter, now a Stoma because she got a bedsore in Beloit at The Bay Care Center and then had to go to Beloit Hospital. She is allergic to penicillin and I don't know her reaction to other antibiotics. I drove up to Madison to see her... She was swelled up with fluid retention in her upper body and had hard time breathing pale yellow look, then a few days later I saw her she was doing great looking normal with some pink in her cheeks and lips and she could move her fingers no swelling or congestion, but yesterday my sister said she is back to being congested again, so i don't know if they put her back on something she is allergic to.
What is the role of Linezolid in. VRE en fecalis uti in such cases resistant to ampicillin and cephalosporin but sensitive to Linezolid and nitrofurantoin?
My daughter has VRE of a UTI, this is the 2nd time within this hospital she has gotten this. Dose these drugs attack the GI stomach, cause now she has gastrosipsis
