As i have gone through life i have always found the best gear is always designed and built buy a serious end user with years of experience in his field , and as long as no one cheapens it or tries to cut corners ( or the accountants do poke there noses in ) that gear is always by far the best , keep up the amazing work in and out of the tree's August
Nice video August. John did a great job showing the new features of the 2.0. If I was a tree guy I’d definitely be buying one if I saw this video. Congrats.
Well I know what my next saddle is going to be. Just got my V1 made on 6/22 and wow was it a game changer. Even if there won’t be a trade in/upgrade option I’ll be saving up for the V2….hell might be the V3 by then lol. Love your content and gear August keep it going. Be safe out there
Nice work MB team I will have one soon! I'm a lefty and that's why I have held off my saw is never on the right side. Love the adjustability to make it truly unique to the climber and how they set up!
My wife bought me the new monkey beaver saddle and I must say it is awesome. I do advise getting the pads, they make a difference while in a tree for 8 hours. I did go through the suspenders in less than a month, my wife think my sweat ate the suspenders and they just started fraying apart in the shoulders. The saddle took a few climbs to get tuned into my climbing but once done it’s the most comfortable saddle I’ve had out of the 4 I’ve used over the years. The easy on and off clips at the end of the climb are awesome. Over all good saddle definitely recommend to whoever reads this.
Please call the office for new suspenders. The fabric company gave us a weak batch of fabric for the suspenders and there are a few frazzled like yours and none other than those few in a batch that we’ve been replacing. We have 100 pairs of those that we have to cut up even though they look perfect they’re from that batCh. Please call the office and I’ll replace them with ones that won’t wear out for eons.
Definitely gonna get one at some point in time. I still run a Buckingham, but it is getting time to replace it. Great to see John is still full of energy.
Love the video monkey Beaver cannot believe the rot that was in that tree and it cracking and still hasn't blown down I'm not a professional climber but I need to get me a set of them suspenders and that rope bag thank you so much for the video
nice ad, been climbing in New Tribe for a few years, been thinking about the monkey beaver for a min to replace. i am also in the pnw, a little north of you. God bless brother. ahava shalom
Hey August, that orchard ladder really interests me. I would like to make one. Any chance of hooking me up with the owner of it to get some close-up shots of the metal strengtheners and braces? Maybe some measurements if they are willing?
Did you see the video? If not, then you should. He shows several versions of the 2.0 and it looks like black, white, green and blue and a "disco" version at least. They were images that either faded in on the left of the screen, or slid or dropped in throughout the segment while John demonstrated the new saddle.
You sonavabich! Well, guess I'll buy one in a few years when my current one wears out! The MonkeyBeaver is the only saddle I can wear with my squishy thighs.
Good Morning August, man, what a shame ..... as I finish my plate of grits and three eggs before heading to the big blowdown oak, I see you spilling all that Redeye gravy out of the tree. Wonder how it got way up there... Smiling, George.
Seeing all the Rock Exotica tool carriers on the first harness pictured made my eyes bulge, more money in the tool carrier than anything else there hahaha
I’m still building my climbing gear kit. I’m currently climbing on an Amazon special (save me your concerns, I already know). I’ve been looking on the used market for a deal and have found that nobody wants to get rid of their MB saddle.
5 weeks of recovery for me after a surgery last week. When I get back to tree work I'm ordering a saddle. The sooner the better as I know it takes time. I'm a fairly small climber at 5'7" 130 pounds thinking of a maybe a small for me.
@@AugustHunicke I had a pilonidal sinus removed & I guess I have an absess as well. I had 4 colorectal surgeries in 2018 as well. At 28 years old just hoping I'm finally done. The fibrin glue is falling out as I type liquid stitches dissolving quick as well. I had some separation sadly so I'm still on the oxy for another week.
@@AugustHunicke my biggest issue is actually bieng restless. I cant stop moving around and doing stuff when I'm in pain so I assume the pain meds are what helps me relax & rest. Sadly the tearing & separating of the wound is normal I had a flap surgery done. If it re occurs I'll have to have a cleft lift done. Another name for pilonidal disease is Jeep Disease it affected soldiers in world war 2 big time and was coined that.
Seems like the rope bag good idea if a guy had chest harness or use the biner on the suspender s to clip a small purple pulley on the suspender attachment point to feed the rope bag into it .
Maybe think about taking trade ins. Don’t know about the liability but betting there is a market for good broken in saddles for the non pro. I’d probably buy a first version just to have for the few times I need to carry more gear than I can with my light Edge with it’s crappy D’s
Man I really need a good bag suggestion for crane jobs ... my rope always just starts flying out of my bag when I untie from the crane to make a cut. Super annoying..
John S gives me hope that a mature individual can be above average at tree work (I am a DIY with a pension toward this type of activity). I am collecting my low end gear, and your group makes me want to do more of this!
