You don't HAVE to, but the copper is going to naturally oxidize over time as its exposed to the air. Oftentimes it just looks dirty. By oxidizing it myself, I can also polish it so it still has shine and highlights and stuff.
You may be aware, we’re building a very modest off grid home. I saved as much electrical copper I could find after wiring our house, I was thinking I’ll make something out of it. Now I know what! Great video. Thanks so much, Lindsey! 🤗
I get pretty much all my tools from Amazon. I buy wire from both Amazon and Riogrande.com. All of this can also be bought at big box stores like Hobby Lobby and Michael's.
