Yes! We’ve loved ENWC for the last 5 years, but sometimes a switch is good.

Is there any way you could do a video about the Peaceful Preschool? How you taught it and your rhythm, and tips? I need to get it rolling with my youngest of five, she’s so bored and wanting time with mama. She also wants to know everything and have those hands on moments. My brain is cooked by the time school is done and I need to follow a plan so she gets what she needs.

Hi there! I am new to homeschooling and am planning to teach my 1st grader this year. I am searching for the right curriculums for us and am really leaning towards Exploring Nature With Children and the Playful Pioneers. In your experience, would you be able to use the two together? We will also add math (leaning towards Math-U-See) not sure if we would need anything else specific, like phonics.

Hello Rebecca! Yes, you could do ENWC and Playful Pioneers, I did. Jen does include some nature study in her curriculums, but ENWC is so simple to implement and wonderful for 1st grade.

I was planning on using Treehouse Schoolhouse next year when my son turns 5. We’ve been enjoying the free samples she provides. But the price (even for digital) is above my budget so I’ve been waiting for a big sale. Now I’m curious if I should try ENWC instead since it’s so affordable, but I don’t know as much about it. Do you think it would be a good curriculum for a “kindergartner”? How would you compare the two for that age? I plan on re-using whichever I end up buying for years. I like in SCTH that the poetry and art are already included and ready to print vs searching online. I also like there’s a folk song and hand rhyme component. And aesthetically, SCTH is just lovely to look at. But I’m not sure if the things I love justifies the price difference if the core themes are pretty similar. Thanks!

Hi Elena! You’re asking all the right questions. I used and loved using ENWC for 4 years before using SHTH. It was great, albeit not as “pretty”. With SHTH you’re paying for aesthetics in my opinion. It’s not any richer overall than ENWC. It is essentially the same program, BUT it has hand rhymes and folk songs added, and it’s more beautiful. If budget is an issue, I’d personally use ENWC for a year first and see if it works for you.

This looks good, is it Secular, or does it have religious content.

Hello Tuatha, it’s entirely secular. The creator is a Christian, but she did not put any spiritual learning or connections in the guides. It’s simply a weekly theme with classic artwork, a poem, folk song, and hand rhyme.
