Excellent video. Thr reason the tires were so hard to put on is becuse of the Bontrager tubless strip. Next time take those off and use a regular wheel tape. The tired will go on much easier.
best bike ever. i bought a trek rail 7 in 2021 the frame got a crack iand i got a carbon fiber frame from trek. i ve upgraded with ohlins suspension srping on the back saint fr 560 axs but what i wanted to ask you is...... have you looked into upgrading the motor and the display. do you think its posible to put in the new bosch, with its display and the bluetooth remote????? will never get rid of this model was the best frame trek has built by far with the 625 batery the large frame is just perfect !!!!!!!
I have 9.8 gx axs gen 4 rail on its way. I play to do suspension upgrade in the future. It will take time to do the upgrades, but i will buy the parts on sale or something. When i finalise the upgrades it will become an animal of a bike. Ill have my week of remorse until i get my hands on it. Had the remorse when i bought my 9.8 slash last year, but instantly went away when i started riding.
Rob Rides is great, I recall there was a time when he said the Kenevo with the DH fork was the perfect do everything bike. Sounded ridiculous to the average rider, but the logic is simple. If you can easily carry extra because the bike carries it for you, why not bring along big hit suspension? I fell in love with the linear rate coil on my DH bike, but they aren't really recommended for my Levo. So I think that will become the loaner bike, and I will buy or build anything I can get that is close to that magic 200mm of travel. Good edit by the way, the full orchestra music on the ride was a bit much but I doubt many will notice.
@@CrushedEMTB As a kenevo owner I can highly recommend one. Mine runs a mullet wheel setup and I run 190mm of travel at each end. I did this with a Zeb 190mm 29er fork and upping the rear shock from 230X62.5 to 230X65. To say it's a plough through anything weapon would be an understatement! LOL.
Great video, I so enjoyed every minute of it, I purchased Rail 9 7 months ago, and am loving it except that rattling sound while doing down hills on rocks and not pedaling, do you know the exact cause of that rattling ? do you think I need to upgrade any of the Rail 9 model 2022 ? Thanks 🙏
I have been reading that shock thread over and over...... It is such a mess and I think I leave just as confused as before. No clear consensus on what would fit a Medium Gen 4 carbon outside of prob Fox DHX2 and DVO Jade X. Really interested in Rockshox Vivid (air and coil). And no mention of water bottle clearance on the Mediums either.
I'll add a speed box or speedi after my warranty is expired lol the speedi though isn't linked through the system that leaves a trace in the data but you don't hear much about it now its just a case of moving the magnet further from the sensor adding a more powerful magnet to keep the pickup transfer strong
Great vid, really interesting,my advice is not to do carbon rims,my front tyre took a hit,the tyre exploded, and the rim snapped in half, that wouldn’t have happened with a DTswiss 541 alloy rim
I live in N. Phx and love your AZ vids. Can you please tell me what hardware I would need to install the DHX2 on my Rail 9.7? I can not find anywhere what I would need to mount the shock to my Rail. I currently have a RockShox Air. Thank you in advance and keep the vids coming.
Give cycle therapy in Lake Havasu a call. They are the most adapt to this problem. I don’t know personally I just took what they told me and it worked.
Hi, so I just ordered the 2022 Fox Factory Float X2 230x57.5 and same fork as you. If I flip that chip will I have more travel ? Or I need the coil setup ?
Love it. The rear shock you NEED to get is a Push ElevenSix! You think the bike is good now but it will be transformed with the ElevenSix. It’s to shocks in one. With a flick of a lever the shock goes from ultra efficient for climbing to ultra plush to eat up the descents. The shock is specially tuned for you and the bike. Made here in Colorado! I haven’t messed with e-bikes yet so this was a cool video. How much does the bike weigh? Do you feel the weight on the climbs?
I think the bike is around 53-53lbs. I once has a race XC hard tail that only weighted 21lbs. The Trek Rail climbs better than it! I'll look into the PUSH shock.
No, I didn’t see any problem with it. It’s still e-tuned and covers the whole bearing bottom just like the bigger crown wood. The only thing with that is aesthetics it doesn’t look as clean, but who cares
