I just picked up today a 2021 Domane SL5 with the 105 shimano groupset. I have been riding a 2012 Madone 3.0 for the last 12 years. Hoping for a considerable difference on long rides. Your thoughts?

Awe, Trek you do it to me. I'm looking for a new road bike. I've had toe surgery, and I've been sidelined for a while. And most current road bike designs look the same, and awful to me. But I like yours.

Thanks for the great video, but I have a question. Everyone says the Emonda is the lightweight climbing bike in the lineup, but the Madone Gen 7 SL6 is lighter than the Emonda SL6 according to the Trek website. If that is accurate, why would someone still choose an Emonda if it is heavier and less aero?

That’s a great question, the Gen 7 Madone has certainly changed things up in the weight stakes. With the similar geometry the key differences are now down to aesthetics and price.

I believe Trek claims the Domane can take up to 38mm tires, not 32mm.

The Domane has 32mm as standard which are great and comfortable, i have 40mm gravel on mine with some room to spare, love it

.... I have a Gen1 ... 2013 Domane 5.2 , Rim Brakes, 3X10 Ultegra ... ungraded alloy rims ( carbon are heavier, too expensive and break on potholes ) and it weighs in at 16 lbs /4 oz's and I just love it ... fast and enjoyable ... but TREK as improved the 5.2 and made it a POS!!!! so I will not be buying a new TREK anytime soon ....

forgive me, but the guy promoting these bikes is 'overweight' although extremely knowledgeable in the the bike range. seems strange to me ....?
