The Filipinos are still the main customers in bgc. There are indeed a lot of foreigners in bgc but they are still tiny as compared to the Filipinos. All the business establishments there will not survive if the Filipinos have no purchasing power. So times have changed. The middle class Filipinos are already considerable. Enough to support the business establishments in bgc.
5:45 No they did not demolish residential structures in developing BGC in the late 90’s FYI BGC is a former military base that has been sold to private real estate developers to create an alternative CBD to nearby Ayala Makati CBD. It was too big of a valuable real estate for the government to maintain for the sole purpose of a military base aside from it is not wise to put a military base smack in the middle of the metropolis, hence it was sold to a private consortium between Ayala Land, Megawold, Robinsons realty and Federal Land
That area was a military camp (called Fort Bonifacio) before. It was all dirt and there were hardly any roads before. There are not so many people there before except for the family of soldiers. So not so many people were moved away from there.
It's not easy to relocate slum areas so upcoming BGC-like cities won't come soon but there are smaller versions upcoming like the Arcovia, Parklinks, Arca South, Filinvest Alabang, Vertis, etc. A small version already completed is Eastwood City. You should try to visit it. Araneta City is making improvements to competer with BGC. It's the first go to place in Manila a few years ago. 😊
Looks very nice and modern . I’d love to see that area on my next visit to Philippines. Did you ask for a knife for your chicken parmigiana? You said it was oily but finished it all- you were either hungry or like it!😅
That was on the High street video, but yes was oily but I was very hungry. I also hate wasting food. When is your first video coming out Jetsetter07? Please subscribe to Jetsetter07. Content to come soon, I am assuming.
Right now they are building an artificial isand of the manila bay! Its 2times the size of bgc!! They will make to also a modern leisure and business district!!!
Filipinos going to Malls just to get some Aircon benefits..could be true for some dirt poor Pinoys..but Make No Mistake about the growing, ballooning number of Middle Class Pinoys who have the Purchasing Power!! If indeed Pinoys would just go to Malls just to feel the Cold Breeze,then..All the Philippine Malls would go bankrupt!! No Sales! BUT SUCH IS NOT THE CASE!.. The Mushrooming Giant Malls here and there, still full-packed is a TESTAMENT to the PURCHASING POWER OF THE UP AND RUNNING CLOSE TO MEDIAN CLASS,the MIDDLE CLASS and the upper echelons of the Nouveao riche are all Making these Malls breathing Millions in Profit every minute!! The Huge Young Age Population and Educated at that are also keeping the Business Outsourcing industry Vibrant,Good economy meant More Young industries, businesses are cropping-up to Supply the huge demand! Going to the Malls is an expression of Spending Money to make their families Happy, regardless the hardtimes.
Certainly didn't look like a back office. It was still an impressive building. All the better with the red and green lights on it which I assumed were for celebrating Christmas.
Yes, a little area hidden around the back. I guess it's there so they can control the crowds late at night and they don't go spilling out onto the main roads
BGC is expanding. I know someone who lived somewhere around BGC and they are being paid to move to another place to live because BGC is buying lots around it.
Why is youtube allowing ad that are AI Generated and fake? In this ad is Dr. Vicki Belo talks about some eyeglass product. This is so wrong people could easily get scamed by it.
Filipinos goes to malls because it has everything. The air conditioning is not necessary the reason. Did you know that SM malls alone has 85 malls in Metro Manila? Add to that the Ayala, Robinson and other malls. That's just in Metro Manila. In other cities of the globe, how many do they have? One or two? We're not talking about small size malls here. Philippines has 4 or 5 in the top 18 biggest malls in the whole world 😊
@@TrekkerPaul there are new ones sprouting like Parcal in Pasay and another modern mall in Araneta city. Old malls like Glorietta 1 in Makati are demolished to make a new modern one. The other malls will undergo considerable upgrades. I don't think you've visited these hundred of malls already. 😊
