Checked out more cabin real-estate in western mass before heading on a road trip with @alleewild up to the woods of Maine to stay in a tiny cabin with a clear roof. Along we the way we ate at The Last Unicorn and discovered the existence of a rare creature in the woods. See more of the cabin in the next story, coming soon.

Kyle, you are a tremendously good storyteller. Your narratives are so soothing to hear - as in curled up in a blanket and drinking hot chocolate by the fireplace kind of soothing.

I felt like I was there, in those places. Getting a snippet of the whole experience... places where my feet will probably never reach. Thank you!

Okay...so I 'found' your channel (again)this month (October, 2023) and I'm just realizing I never clicked 'more' to read the intro comments. So here I go... (yep, it's the OCD in me😆). Anyway, you'll probably never see this, but I'd like to thank you IMMENSELY for bringing to my remembrance scenes and moments that trigger my thoughts of growing up in New York on the Island and Upstate in the '70s through early '90s. We relocated south and continued families of our own in '94. Our first ice 'issue' I took for granted. I thought, "Great! We should get some snow soon." That's only happened once in the 29 years we've been here.😔 (I've dubbed GA the land of two seasons: Hot and Not). I've learned to acclimate, but NEVER completely. My heart will forever be intrinsically tied to my 'True North.' Anyway, I just realized how fascinated I've become with the wood burning stoves I'm seeing. I literally have stopped and enlarged this vid five times to hone in on the one behind you @4:00 to the right! Ours was a 2ft cast iron, no window that I learned to handle at 7. Dad installed a 3' x 2" thick slab of granite over the wooden floorboards at the fireplace and bricked it up the year after we moved in. That little workhorse heated our '38 Cape Cod for the next 20 years. It took my parents 10 years of saving after they were married and relocated from TN to NY in '63 to save and purchase this beautiful fixer upper on the Island. I helped dad for the next 18 years to rewire, carpet, strip, install gutters, rock, panel, etc., and I now sit smiling at his lessons to me each time I work on my own abode 30 years later. We just put the roof and enclosed our patio in where I'm now carving walking sticks as a surprise for our treks through the N. GA Mtns and back to the Lookout Mtn. where I've found the seasons again! As our area succumbs to more urbanization, I look out over our slowly dwindling wooded acreage lots and am ever grateful to be tasked with keeping my elms, oaks, and wild muscadine and lush honeysuckle vines that are able to provide housing and nourishment for winged and furry families. Little did I realize how what I thought were such mundane tasks back then (learning to choose the right strips of bark, how to choose and twist the right kind of and smallest amount of paper to reduce as much creosote as possible, recognizing and distinguishing wood that wouldn't pop out at me when I stoked it, how to tent it and uncover the embers to restart when I'd get in after school to get it going again, etc.,) would evoke such rich personal nostalgia for me. Thanks for following your passion and encouraging me to continue to follow mine. ~Best to all K. C. Train

Too much about his opinions. As someone who lives in a 4 season tent in the NW I was laughing the entire time. Lox and bagels? Oh for godsake you can order that in Iowa. A sled contraption thing? It's amazing they didn't die on the first night. I know small women who can pull one of those things on their own. And It's like he is amazed that weather exists. Yeah dude, winter does exist - and it is cold and often icy. Why does this generation say things like, “I am literally sitting here”?? We can see you’re sitting there doing whatever. And by the way - lots of people only depend on wood stoves. The only interesting thing was the fairy shrimp...which only seemed to be mentioned to give him the chance to look down his nose at the locals. It could have been an interesting story, but it would have taken a smidge of interest in the locals. But really, lox and bagels? I just got those for my daughter in small town Pacific NW. Loved the music, all of it.
