Stray kids write and produce their own music and they usually make what they love and don't stick to the norms and people hate on their music a LOOT because it's not the usual kpop sound so it makes me happy that non fans appreciate their music. Also if you're an anime fan they made the opening and ending of TOWER OF GOD in 3 versions (Japanese korean and english)so definitely worth checking out.
"I'm starting to really like Kpop" LOL YESSSSS that was cute. Hope you continue to enjoy kpop and love that you can own up to it. Kpop is huge and it's good shit, so nothing to be embarrassed about 💜
It's interesting bc I find a lot of people who listen to metal/rock or hip hop really appreciate kpop. I think it's because the music can be so complicated and always changes up
Felix and “the guy with chain on his face”, Chris, are both from Australia. They grew up in Australia even if they’re both pure Korean. Felix is actually having a hard time speaking korean but he’s one of people in charge or rapping.
Haha; I'm a black metal fan and also a kpop fan, been a fan of both genres for 15+ years. Nothing unusual really, kpop attracts loads of alternative people ;)
@@Newova It's fine lol it's just that you were so chill compared to others 😂😂 And I guess "DU DU DU DU" is like the sound of "cutting", they are cooking the track you know
Oh, I think you definitely lile kpop. You'd be impressed at how many "metalheads" actually like kpop. You should check a kpop girl group called Dreamcatcher. They have a kind of a metal vibe. 💜☂️
Yes they're one of a kind and most of their songs have metal and rock features, but as a guy that loves more than one genre, they're even more impressive cause they are able to make songs of other genres as ballad and edm. They're versatile.
@@Newova Absolutely, Dreamcatcher are phenomenal. I'd recommend starting with their latest, Scream, and if you like that, you can go back for a deep dive; a lot of their title tracks make up a larger narrative, but Scream is the beginning of a new story.
Stray kids is a rookie group that debuted in 2018. The members were handpicked by the leader of the team. They write and produce their own songs. One of the members was a backup dancer for bts! They went through a reality TV show on which they were at risk of being eliminated but luckily all 9 members made it but a member has left the group due to personal reasons so they have continuted on with 8 members. Their music is very diverse and they talk about some deep topic like mental health, struggles of youth and fear of acceptance but they also release bangers like this song. The fandom name is stay so in conclusion, Stays welcome you! Fun fact: Changbin the first rapper in this MV is technically the fastest rapper in South Korea and has set the record by rapping a text message on a variety TV show 😂
correction: he's not the fastest rapper in Korea but fastest idol rapper. The actual fastest Korean rapper is also the fastest rapper in the world, but they're not kpop
I’ve been obsessed with this song recently! Also Felix with his DEEP voice had the kpop community so hyped. This song broke all of us when it came out LMAO
Felix is Australian, so he is fluent in English. people who know more than one language, it tends to be easier to switch. I rarely speak in one language myself.
Tang = soup-like dish in Korea I love Stray kids!!! My second favorite after BTS. All their MVs/songs are fire. Hope you react to them some more! You should check out NCT 127, they're up there too.
Korean music often gets on the trending list actually, the groups that often get onto it during their comebacks are : Stray Kids BTS EXO BLACKPINK Twice NCT127 Seventeen Red velvet GOT 7 TXT Monsta X ITZY ATEEZ I recommend you check them all out! :)
@@Newova I might have missed some out but yeah! I thought I'd list them in case your interested, Blackpinks comeback is tomorrow and they'll definitely be on trending for a while so...Next week? 👀
Felix(the deep voice) and bangchan (chain on his face) are both born in Australia and dreamed to be a kpop star. Funfacts: all of their songs are produced by the members, and all of their songs has a meaning (to cheer you up and such). Better know them :)
Trust me, for some reason there’s a lot of Metal people that eventually turn to K-Pop. It’s actually really interesting to see lmao- Metal had been my first for a long time too and suddenly.. K-Pop took over haha.
"Tang" in Korean means "Soup" so the lyric says "Ige uri tang" means "this is our soup" thats why when they sing that part, the hand movements is like someone holding a pot and the other hand is like spreading(?) ingredients . sorry for my bad english but the point is there are a lot of cooking-related-term in this song, both the lyrics and the dance moves.
The leader of Stray Kids (Bang Chan) said recently on a live that he’s watched a TON of reaction videos for this MV and really enjoyed seeing how people vibed with the song. I’m sure he saw yours and it made him really happy! Thanks for checking them out and giving them a chance :)
felix and chan (the australians) were both raised in sydney !! they've made a huge difference in kpop because we dont tend to see aussie idols and they have drawn alot of australian fans into the industry ! overall stray kids have changed the kpop game hugely because of their self produced discography (which isn't common for idol groups) and really different sound/message,, 10/10 would recommend to anyone🥺
STRAY KIDS WORLD DOMINATION!!! Felix's voice is so unique. You'd love his voice in their other songs. Stray Kids is awesome!!!! LISTEN TO THEM!!! :) ♡♡
STRAY KIDS EVERYWHERE ALL AROUND THE WORLD hehe you should watch more stray kids stuff because all of their songs are incredible and stray kids are such talented song writers, producers, dancers, rappers, singers you name it, they got it.
i havent listened to any stray kids song before, but after this God's Menu. i've been looking into their other songs in the menu and damn, how did i never listen to any of their songs before. they are good. damn good.
Bang Chan is also Australian. 😊 You’d be surprised, many kpop groups aren’t just comprised of strictly Koreans. They can be from all over, many groups have 1 or more English speakers, some times even some speaking other languages also. But all the members voices in this group is so amazing and flexible. Especially Felix. ❤️
Bro this is just a taste of What they can do. I just watched ur “Easy” reaction and they are known for Machine gun rapping mixed with vocals. Check out “Miroh” it’s what officially put them on the international map. Oh and he’s one of two Aussies in SKZ
Stray Kids write their own lyrics and produce their own songs and most of the time their lyrics are deep but if you don't read the lyrics you wouldn't know that because their songs hit hard if that makes sense. All of their songs are really great in my opinion and you should check them out more
I have been listening to heavy metal my entire life, but suddenly I fell in love with Stray Kids (Side Effects I'm looking at you) and now I can't stop! :D
“Non native English speakers” lmao that’s Felix and he’s Australian😂 the one with the chains on his face is also Australian! Their accents are actually still REALLY strong when they speak English and you can actually hear it in their English parts a bit! There are actually a lot of English speakers in Kpop from English-speaking countries! There are a lot specifically from Canada and the U.S! “Kpop” is also an umbrella term! It’s technically just used to describe Korean music, like you said, and Kpop basically has almost every single genre of music that America does, just in Korean! They have k-hiphop, k-pop, k-RnB, k-rap, k-bands, k-rock, and SO much more! I’m personally a huge fan of K-RnB. And one of my favorite K-RnB artists is a soloist named Sam Kim. His voice is phenomenal and he’s from Seattle so he’s fluent in English! Thanks for reacting to Stray Kids!❤️ I really hope you get more into Kpop cause you won’t regret it. The talent in this industry is unreal.
stray kids are great! they're another group that writes and produces their own stuff, and they have a lot to say! i recommend district 9, double knot, and side effects from them.
stray kids are some of the biggest trendsetters in kpop today!! rather new but pretty much created todays sound of kpop (noisy as a lot of people call it, a lot going on, intricate instrumentals) and got a lot of flack for it until everyone else joined in and now its almost the standard. super cool music and they never disappoint with the concepts! the tang in the chorus means soup, and the choreo refers to it by spicing and stirring the soup, they talk about satisfying all your senses with their music and about how much they have to offer as well. if you enjoyed this im sure youll enjoy their other things as well!! totally recommend miroh as it has kind of a similar vibe and is also deeper the more you dive into it (haka inspired lyrics and dance!). this was so fun to watch
Stray Kids is a group formed under JYP Ent. They debuted is 2017 with helivator (?). They started with 9 members but one left the group in Oct. 2019, leaving them with 8. They have a rapper subunit called 3racha, I recommend listening. The members are Chan (the leader), Lee Know, Seungmin, Han, Hyunjin, IN, Felix, and Changbin. The member who left, if your interested, his name is Woojin. They have incredible music I suggest you listen to more!😇👍🏻
I love the balance between the actual mv sound and your voice. I can hear your voice soooo well and the I can hear the mv sound in stereo and at full volume... it’s not too loud but I can hear every thing Stray kids is doing (which is absolutely necessary of course) thank you!!!💚
I think the “tang tang tang” part is an onomatopoeia for when you put in/sprinkle spices into your cooking. ‘Cause if you look at the choreography on that part, it’s like they’re holding a pan with their left hands while their right hands above their heads are making the sprinkling movement. So, “this is out tang tang tang” is like saying “this is our spices/flavor”.
It's too late? my favorite cookies are raisins! I used to listen to power metal before I got into kpop. Stray Kids's music has a lot of influence from hip hop, EDM and rock, among other genres. They usually like experiment with different styles/genders. But always being Stray Kids. Please, react to more of them. They are a very talented self- produced group. They make themselves all their songs since his pre debut. Their lyrics always have a deep and meaningful messages, with which listeners can identify. All of them can sing, dance and rap well. Their versatility allows them to better adapt the voices of each member, either singing or rapping to match the song. I recommend to you Hellevator, Side Effects, My Pace, Voices and Levanter. Maybe you can also Check a guide. The most informative is: An introduction to Stray Kids: 2020 edition by hyunjin nation. Thank you~
Glad you liked it, Stray Kids have very different sound than the usual kpop, you should check out their other songs as well, also they themselves write and produce their songs. I think Stray Kids and Dreamcatcher have the most distinctive and different sound in kpop, so pls do more reaction to both groups.
yea, felix is australian.. and the one you said before that wear chain in his face also australian, his name is Chan or Chris(his internasional name) is australian too.. Chan is leader.
I am actually the same as far as music taste! I started liking rock and metal and screamo in middle and high school (along with hip hop and rap because I also dance, and broadway because of my love of theatre and musicals lol) and got into Kpop around 2017 and have loved it ever since you're not alone! JOIN US lol this is how it always starts, just watching a few music videos, next thing you know you have lightsticks, photo cards, albums, and stan hard af lmao
My fav flavor is 100% Chocolate chips but anyways... I really liked this reaction, im a huge Stray kids fan. Tbh it does kind of suck that alot of k-pop fans dont like em just because they dont work the same way as other kpop bands. They work so much on their music and they do it because they love it regardless of all the hate. This boyband is so unique in many ways and i love em for it.
You should definitely react to more Stray Kids ♡ They are so talented and hard working. They write, produce and create their choreo. And their rapline is crazy. Side effects, District 9, Hellevator and Miroh are some of my favorites.
I get excited every time someone discovers kpop/ Korean music in general. So many singers, groups, rappers, bands... You can be sure you'll find something you will enjoy. 🙃 I wish I could start from scratch again too 😂
tang/탕 has multiple meanings ! it translates to soup in english. this represents their music and how diverse it is, because they have so many songs in different genres, therefore there is something for everyone (r&b, trap, pop, hiphop, etc.), in the same way that soup is made of multiple ingredients. tang can also represent flavour, as in their have their own unique style and sound!
Felix knee the basics of korean but it was pretty tough year for him 2018 but he made it all the way. He and another member were eliminated from the survivors show but he’s back and now basically the Team depends a lot on his voice and they all work hard to be where they are now even when one of the members left the group in 2019. Please support stray kids ❤️
Was I the only one who when he was like "it's so dope that they can switch from korean to english so fast" thought.... PLS SOMEONE NEEDS TO TELL HIM THAT FELIX AND CHAN ARE FROM AUSTRALIA! Like Felix didn't even speak korean three years ago... I'm just loving these boys💕
Music is one of the great unifiers. Welcome to K-Pop! I started in 2015 with the same opinion and haven't turned back yet. LOL. There's so much variety that you're bound to find something you enjoy.
Two of them are Australian. The deep voiced guy (Felix) and the guy with face chains (Bang Chan). Felix started training to be an idol although he knew little to no Korean but was taught mostly by his fellow member Lee Know. Chan however was a trainee for about 8 years so he had alot of time to practice Korean and his parents are Korean.
I am convinced all the screamo fans ended up as K-pop fans. Someone said it was the eyeliner lol. I think it's the fearlessness in sound and visual experimentation and vocal techniques. Something I don't think Emo ever really got enough props for,.
when you said im starting to like kpop i felt that lol i grew up listening to a lot of metal as well. Was in the army and lived in korea all last year and it grew on me now i love it lol
I believe they made Tang have a double meaning. Someone said ina video it meant soup in korean, but also a Tang as in a Tang of Flavor in English. Talented Korean artists do that a lot and I love it!
