www.raiplay.it...
Can you believe he is now 74 and he still does this close to the original song over 40 years ago? He is amazing as a singer, producer, song writer, and all else he has done in his career.
@@IRONIVAN89 I thought that at first but it does not seem to be that. His voice is close but not quite the same as it was back in the 1980s when it was made.
I believe this is now a genuine classic that now gets the credit it deserves within the music industry , so innovative back in 1979. Trevor Horn still sounding great today. R.I.P Linda Allen.
Everyones commenting on his voice, which is incredible and exactly like it was on the record. But can we talk about his bass playing? I mean damn, amazing....
You know, it's possible to enjoy classic songs and music without putting down the contemporary songs and music. There is some good stuff being produced today as well.
@@ISBE91I’m guessing obsessions with the future in the mid 70s & 80s made it possible, this song was produced in the 1979, the end to the era of funk & disco, and an opening to the 80s. Like they say: Trevor Horn is the inventor of 80s music.
I guess Trevor and I are both getting older. The first time I heard this song in 1980 was while I was in my high school drama class. We were rehearsing for a play and had a lot of sitting around time while waiting for our scenes. There was an orchestra pit below the stage where we could kick back and wait until we were needed on stage. My friend Starla had a small radio that we listened to when this song came on, and we were all immediately surprised by its sound. I had no idea who the Buggles or Trevor Horn was until the song became incredibly popular. Then I heard that he and Geoff Downes were joining the band Yes, which didn't make much sense as they seemed like completely different music styles. Once I heard the album Drama, I was blown away. Trevor Horn is a musical genius.
How about the visionary lyrics? This song came out a couple years before MTV. Brilliant how they used this song as the first video. Still blows me away every time I hear it. Trevor sounds amazing, and the backup singers..... 👍👍
Do you notice how everyone, not all are sitting down respecting each other to see the show. Also, I didn't see one phone up trying to record this. Why can't we do this in America. We are selfish brats.
Trevor is singing live and sounds fantastic. The backup girls are lip syncing to Linda and Debbies original recording from 1978. Especially the you are a radio star solo at the end. Unmistakably Linda ❤
I would have said most of the instruments weren't live either, up until the last twenty seconds where the drummer plays fills that weren't on the original record, and they've worked out a different ending to the song. So I'm questioning it after that. But up to that point, it sounded like it was playback of the original track. Perhaps they unmuted the electronic drums the drummer was playing for the last 20 seconds, cos even the drums sounded like the original track and are too specific for him to be recreating it live. Synths and keys, again, sound too similar to the original for me to think it's being played live.
Just came across this and smiled all the way though. Such a feel good tune, such a throwback to a simpler time. Crowd loving it and Horny in his 70s, note perfect vocally and musically. Top stuff.
They couldn't get those women to actually sing instead of just having them mime? It's so painfully obvious, especially on the "You are a radio star" part because that's clearly only one woman's voice, yet they're both singing?
To be in such a historical area, every single person in the crowd joining in and love the moment in complete musical unity. Just amazing to listen to and watch. I bet when the area was built all those years back nobody would ever think of such an event taking place there. Just WOW 😍
I can only surmise that the 1980’s were the equivalent of the “roaring ‘20’s of the 20 Century. I obviously didn’t live anywhere near the 1920’s, but I was so fortunate to have started University in 1981 and lived through some of the greatest music of all time in my opinion. I know that many ridicule this song, but it is an iconic song that has gone down, and will continue to go down for the rest of history. It was the very first song that opened up and was played on MTV. People can say what they want, but everyone “secretly” wants to get up and just start DANCING when it comes on.
There are many songs in history that stand the test of time and being the first ever music video on MTV has helped this song do that! Rock on Buggles!!!
Oh, a, oh Oh, a, oh I heard you on the wireless back in fifty two Lying awake intent at tuning in on you If I was young it didn't stop you coming through Oh, a, oh They took the credit for your second symphony Rewritten by machine on new technology And now I understand the problems you can see Oh, a, oh I met your children Oh a oh What did you tell them? Trevor Horn troppo bravo. Di un livello troppo superiore. Top di gamma.
ABSOLUTELY FAAAAAAANTASTIC!!! Never knew the lead Singer's name but he STILL SOUNDS INCREDIBLE and this was a FABULOUS recreation of the BELOVED original recording!!! What a JOY to have been there. Makes me feel like I'm 26 instead of 62 ‼‼‼😁😁😁🕺🕺🕺🕺
