I discovered Morbid when I was about 15yrs old so I basically grew up listening to this band. Trey has been a huge inspiration for me on so many levels. He helped me get into some of these heady concepts and broadened my understanding of the world around me. His skill as a player is unquestionably amazing. I remember back in 98 when FFF just came out I went to an in store meet and greet with the band at the legendary Aces Records in Tampa I had a conversation with Trey that I treasured. Definitely a personal “hero” that didn’t disappoint me as a person. This is a good dude and would be a good friend in the real world sense. Trey and Morbid Angel will always be top shelf stuff for me…

This is a great interview. Very wise person. Met him in 2001 when I was in highschool on the Extreme Steel Tour. Was really friendly to a bunch of kids who were super pumped about Morbid angel and their set!!

Trey sounds like one of the happiest, easy going, down to Earth, most grateful people in the world. Not what you’d expect, but then again that’s what makes Morbid Angel so amazing.

That laughing at taunts in games is so 2000's lol. Games back then were different. So much fun. Today we've been desensitized by our cell phones to something simplistic like that.

I got to see Morbid Angel, Obituary and Nocturnus at the Sunset Club in Tampa, Florida. That was before "Altars of Madness " came out.

I disliked Mozzart too cause my great dane could not spin a generator at the steady pace. Sounded kind of U2-ish. But they're really cccrap

Funny how Chopin, Beethoven, Bach etc knew all the scales, chords, voice leading etc… didn’t seem to limit them in *Any* *Way*. What do you think theory is Trey? Theory came from the music; motivated students studied what sounded so great and wrote it down. ‘Need to know a few rules before you can break them’ Billy Sheehan
@batardglouton5455
@batardglouton5455 Год назад
Trey is certainly ''out there'', but the essence of his message is not wrong. Like you wrote, if he would get formal education and decided to break the rules, with his imagination imagine what he could do.
@WillyWylde1919

Is any of this stopping Trey from writing badass music? Your "point" isn't valid.

@@batardglouton5455 Trey has Asperger Syndrome if you weren't aware. Part of what makes his style and playing so unique. He is one of the most interesting death metal OGs if you ask me. Love these old interviews.

Trey has to know some type of theory or made up his own to play at his level. If you ask me.

It's hilarious you would try boosting your own ego and spreading your ignorance here of all places, you obese nobody. 🤣
