How could you possibly miss that this build is not at all about performance?! If he wanted to swap the engine he could habe just bought an outright c36. Instead he wanted the amazing look of the amg version on his own c200 as well as the feeling of having done it himself. There is no other car like his driving around. Not everything is about horsepower.

That is true. But, I've seen a few C36's for under $5000 here in the States.

Fernando Alcazar I'm trying to answer even though it's a 6 months old comment : have no idea where this c36 is from. But I've been looking for a c36 to offer as a gift to my dad for the past 6 months, and I swear if you want one that is in good shape, low mileage, full options... it's at least a 12 grand car, talking euros here so 15-17000 US dollars i'd say. I'm in France btw. I have an old c220 my dad bought in June 95 and gave me years ago. Switching it to a c36 might cost between 15-20k. But that would be that very car my dad once owned. So the answer is... Maybe passion ? Would've been cheaper to buy one directly as a c36... But it won't be the same. Maybe that c200 was important to him. Maybe he wanted to have his very own c36 without buying one used ? I don't know. But there is dedication for sure here. Cheers mate !
