At this pace, and with this guitar arrangement, there's nowhere for sketchy vocals to hide. What a spot on vocal performance, just the right level of ornamentation to add something without detracting from the real level of emotion required by the story. Bravo, I was a huge fan of your guitar work but this is the best Pancho and Lefty I've heard bar none.
Your gift is so abundant, Trey Hensley. May it only increase, and may you continue to find further great tunes to give us. You're playing and singing, not just for all the poor sods like me who don't play a lick, but for the other fine players already out there who can see your gift more clearly than my capacities allow, so that you and they can inspire one another to push ahead.
Trey Hensley - I can't believe what an incredible guitar player and singer he is; most of his videos are just in his living room or wherever he happens to be staying.
One of my favorites from you. Could spend the rest of my life trying to learn this and couldn't get past the intro. Please release some studio recorded songs we can purchase. Just you and the guitar.
I think it's fair to say you're one of my favorite artists for sure man. You never disappoint & everything you put out is outstanding. Can't wait for ya to come to Chicago man! Also, wish my guitar sounded like that when I play this song :D
Great job: vocals and guitar...excellent! Thanks for giving credit to Townes for writing it, but PLEASE use his lyrics. Know you're using Willie's version but he (and too many others) really change the story. The Federales did NOT let Pancho "slip away", they let him "hang around". And they only let Lefty slip away in the 3rd verse; they only let him "go so wrong" in the last one.
Wow love it. Like the beginning. Great job... thumbs up and subscribe from me. I tried the song too if you'd like to take a listen but I cheated on the beginning lol! P.s. does that say Joe Walsh on the guitar?
