In this footage we can see Trey, sitting next to him is Jason McHugh, and at the far left is Matt. Behind them are the "Ladies of Lapdance" as they're called in the dvd and various articles.
Lapdance 1999 was the very first iteration of this response to Sundance, it took place on January 28, in Park City, Utah, was organized by Jason McHugh and Glasgow Phillips, and it is where the Matt and Trey short "Le Petit Package" was screened (this is all information from the crapcrapcrap website, on web archive). This short was originally meant for Sundance as sort of a middle finger to the festival, a grudge that starts from all the way back in 1994 when Cannibal The Musical, Trey and Matt's first independent film, was rejected by Sundance. They still ended up going to Park City and screening it, thus starting this sort of "revolution of festivals" that acted as a response to Sundance. Successively, Trey and Matt would premiere at Sundance Spirit Of Christmas in 1997 and Orgazmo in 1998.
Their participation at Lapdance 1999 (or rather the existence of the counter-festival in general perhaps) would earn a statement from Robert Redford, founder of the Sundance film festival, calling it "the lowest of the low", statement that would later be criticized by Trey and Matt with their band DVDA, when they'd later open their concert at Lapdance 2000 with the song "Robert Redford Baby F*cker", and especially by Trey saying "I believe it was this time last year that Robert Redford called us the lowest of the low.".
If you want to learn more abt this stuff you can actually find a lot of fascinating information from the websites CrapTV and crapcrapcrap (you'll have to use the web archive), and there is also an autobiography from Glasgow Phillips that I encourage to purchase (gotta support indie legends). The short summary of events I gave above is just everything I learned through my own research, but there's a lot more there.
I'm glad I was able to figure out that there was Lapdance 1999 footage in the dvd, as in general it's super scarce, and we only have like, six pictures at best. I think it's a fascinating time in their history. There used to be more pictures of this event in the website... but they weren't saved properly by the archive.
