Matt Stone and Trey Parker interviewed in The 7PM Project (February 2, 2017). They talk about the creative process, controversy, the best reaction they’ve had from a celebrity and the real life characters behind South Park.
“We’re thinking of owning restaurants.” Not a year later Matt Stone and Trey Parker are now the proud owners of the real life Casa Bonita Mexican restaurant. Amazing.
I think people assumed they were joking since they're comedians. Aussies are used to speaking in sarcasm, so they probably thought they were taking the piss. I also saw a RU-vid video about how they have to watch the cable schedules because whenever that episode gets broadcast, Casa Bonita gets a spike in customers.
@@alexkostoff6587 Shitty as far as food, but kind of a legendary restaurant in Denver as they have a waterfall and cliff divers inside the restaurant for entertainment. It was featured in a South Park episode.
Listened to an interview where Trey Parker said they've been waiting to be canceled for offending people since the first season. He was saying how they have all had backup plans since the beginning, but he's confused as to how they're still running. Super funny!
@@ericmontiel3234 they also just got like a billion dollar deal with Paramount to producer a few movies and more seasons of South Park, so they’ll be around a few more years at least
The fact that they're still voice acting lots of characters and writing most episodes by themselves after 25 years is insane. So much passion, i love it
I love how they’re like “no, we don’t feel bad about any of it”. It’s really refreshing in this whole “you have to apologise for something offensive you said 40 years ago” world we live in.
@@BananaFanatic I had zero idea who that was and when I looked it up it was a streamer who was temp banned from twitch for nudity in a stream and then killed himself in an unrelated incident. Not really sure how or what that has to do with cancel culture to be perfectly honest
Matt Stone and Trey Parker will go down in history as the greatest writers of sattirical comedy in human history. Their ability to parody current events is absolutely unparalleled. God bless these two and their contribution to comedy and media.
Yep that’s it. They don’t discriminate, every single person on planet 🌎 is fair game for them. They’re always so far ahead of everyone else when it comes to world issues and bringing it across with their own genius humour.
These two just signed a $900 million dollar contract promising more seasons… this is inspirational and I never would have thought it would come from South Park creators.
The number of times an episode of South Park has ended with the town carrying pitchforks and running someone off makes me realize that Trey and Matt probably believe it will happen to them.
@@mdaddy775 No. The Project is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who is an infamous propagandist who pays off politicians to legislate so that he can make more money and gain more control. It's not up for debate, The Project is objectively destructive towards an unbias socity.
I like how they both stuck together as comic geniuses after all these years. I hope they never have a falling out with each other. It would be like what happened to John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
Day in and day out we have south park on constant loop. I have often wondered why watching the same episodes over and over never get boring. Still laugh our asses off like it's the first time watching. Thank you Trey and Matt
Well I mean not really. It has been well documented for years that he's based on a real counselor. Mr. Garrison is also based on a teacher of one of them, a teacher that legit had a hand puppet called Mr. Hat.
These two legends right here we need to protect at all costs🙅 they've made our lives enjoyable thanx to Southpark. Life is a bitch and Southpark really does help with laughs. I can't imagine i life without Southpark
I’ll never forget the first time I saw South Park. I had no preview of what to expect. Of course, it didn’t take long for it to be my new favorite. All these years later, it still is my favorite.
Really love these guys they understand reality and the world around them, especially what it’s really like being as a kid the more you watch it the more you can relate. These guys could’ve stopped but they kept cranking episodes and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever watched in my life
Seeing them on stage with Waleed Aly, knowing that there’s a 100% chance that he would defend whatever jihadist might have murdered them for animating the prophet Muhammad, is beyond disturbing.
These 2 are my favorite comedians and actors. They are so talented to make an amazing tv show in only 6 days and I am amazed in how cool and funny people they are.
I love you guys so freakin much...You've brought so much laughter , joy and amusement to me over the years..Your humour is goddamn hilarious and original. Thank you for not suing me for making a character based on your super funny show. I Fucking Love You Both. God Bless ✌💪👍😀
I watched an interview where the guys said that City Wok is an actual business in Colorado. The whole gag about the way the owner pronounces "City" as "Chity" is based on how the real person would speak.
The reason they haven't been "run out of town" is because of what Trey said, they don't focus on the offensive part, and they tell the truth. It's hard to gain a lot of momentum when your argument for canceling someone is an obvious lie.
@@jacob9399 they are heavily leftist (not saying that’s a bad thing) and they chose to purposely take clips out of context in order to fit their agenda. So it’s basically incredibly bias and not enjoyable to watch especially at 6 pm when this show it typical aired
Nowadays, the show airs as its being made. They produce each scene, render it and air it right after. During that scene and commercial breaks, they go on to make the next scene.
Thank you guys sooo much for doing the trans athlete one! We genuinely appreciate you showing the insanity on your show, cuz it's legitimately the only show that tells the truth anymore, and the funniest show ever since the first episode aired.
Matt and Trey are not transphobic and I believe they will change their opinion on that ep if they haven’t already. As a trans person, South Park had NEVER been transphobic until that episode, even though they portray Heather as a “fake” trans woman. I hope they bring Heather back and have her atone for her sins and apologize to Strong Woman.
idk how exactly they did it with this one specifically. but for instance when they talked about climate change seasons ago they made fun of it as well and didnt really beliebe in it at that point of time but seasons later they realised that climate change actually is a real thing and kind of demonstrated their new thinking in an episode where they basically said: yeah climate change was real n we are one of the guys that unfortunatelly doubted it back then. (manbear pig)
It's a show with a walking talking singing piece of poo that spreads Christmas cheer, don't read too deep into it. They make fun of literally everybody for basically no reason. And that's why it's great
