Treyarch MESSED Up - Liberty Falls Reveal BIG Mistake! COD NEXT NEVER going to have Zombies again?
To be clear, since I don't think I made it obvious enough in the video itself, I am still very excited for Black Ops 6 Zombies and do think the Liberty Falls hate is somewhat blown out of proportion. I think a lot of the backlash from the map could've been reduced if they handled the reveal differently, which I discuss in the video. Whilst I think there still would've been backlash for the atmosphere and systems on launch, I think it wouldn't have been anywhere near to the degree if it wasn't revealed in the way it was. This was a massive mistake by Treyarch/Activision, likely costing them a lot of cancelled pre-orders due to bad word of mouth, even though the event itself costed so much. Also, regarding the HUD specifically, whilst I am personally not that big of a fan of the HUD, I similarly don't think it's the end of the world. I think the backlash comes from a lot of things combined (not any one thing on its own) and the fact Treyarch never properly explained certain HUD features can be removed in the event for those who don't like certain aspects.

Agreed on the reveal error. If they just let everyone play 15 min or so, and then abruptly cut to debut the Richtofen cut scene, it could have been a better hype, for example.

The advertising for Liberty Balls is its downfall honestly. If they advertised Liberty Balls as a more causal map I think that people would be less critical. Another thing that I think contributes to the hate that Liberty Balls is getting is that Liberty Balls is the Richtofen map and because Richtofen is the most liked Zombies character people are disappointed that we are getting a bland Zombies map that is tied to one of if not then the most important Zombies character meanwhile Weaver and the others get a classic like Zombies map that has atmosphere.

Definitely a huge fuck-up showing Terminus first then revealing Liberty Balls in the big event. It caused people to completely forget the excitement they had about Terminus. Imagine a world where they reveal Terminus, had a live-play during next, then had Liberty Balls as a bonus map at launch that directly gets advertised as "new to zombies? try this map first!"

@@stephencourtney7356 I think it’s more of a subplot (plot b) map where this map is happening around the same time as the main crew in Terminus which is why there isn’t a set crew that is canon for Liberty Balls. Correct me if I made a mistake.

COD NEXT tried to cater to normal players and show off a simpler zombies. But I think with how simple and easy it was shown that people aren’t going to give it the time of day. Treyarch needs to get to fixing otherwise the game will be toast.

I am ok with everything it is just I do not like the armor situation of manual plating, I hate that and what is funny is the last COD game I bought was Cold War which was fine with armor I just don’t like how it looks like it takes a while to manually. But I am one of those people who like IW zombies which doesn’t have armor or shields so I am fine with no armor or shields and just jug

as far as the "being made as a multiplayer map", it seems to me like they made another BIG map like warzone (the same way they make warzone maps) to then cut it up for MP and Zombies so they wouldn't have to make multiple individual unique locations/experiences. Making a warzone map and cutting it up is probably much MUCH cheaper than actually trying to make a few different maps... I'm guessing here but it seems like it could be the case.

The aesthetics/vibes remind me of ascension and a mix of kino Der toten. You talk about the atmosphere of the map feeling like a multi-player map. I don't see it that way. I think it feels like a town that just got taken over by zombies when it was just brimming with life. It goes with the story, it's not just some random town that was already run down because of years of zombies being around, this is a fresh event. And I don't mind a simple map, we don't need constant complex maps with tight corridors every turn. Being able to breath while still feeling a rush is how I feel while playing tanzit, which is why tranzit is my favorite map. And this map is giving off that simplicity and feel of openness. Also you keep saying "unique atmosphere" but how would it be a atmosphere that is unique if it's the exact same as every previous maps? You just want that dystopia, end of the world, eerie feel that all the other maps have given. This technically would be considered unique compared to previous maps. It feels like so many people are upset because it's different, it is unique, and that it feels too fresh to be zombies. But that's what is going to make it special. There is so much Hate over something that shouldn't be there. This is a new chapter in the story and not every map needs to feel like it's been run down for years.

In my opinion terminus should have been shown at cod next. The one thing I have learned and its what pushed me away from COD is how toxic the community is Liberty might be a great map when people get to play it for real since it could result in short fast paced games that might be enjoyable. Development can't ALWAYS GET THINGS RIGHT they are only human and don't get credit for the hard work and dedication that put in to these games, especially with the amount of lay offs and uncertainty within the industry

Honestly I’m quite over the reveal and all the complaints on it. There’s nothing much more to say until it comes out and we see the actual product. I hope there’s a lot more to the map in the full form, and I just want to see the story escalate. And while they could zombify the hud, that’s probably my least concern of the whole thing. While people want round based zombies, we’re going to realize there’s just only so much to that mode. Vanguard changing to round based didn’t help a thing. Open world has expanded the potential experience and adventure, sadly they just fell short on utilizing it. Zombies just needs more effort, bottom line. They’ve claimed they’re bringing that this game, we will see how that works out when it arrives. Personally, I’m excited and hopeful for it.

If they make the map at night, give it dark aetherial portals in the background dropping certain items from the dark aether e.g. perks, coming zombie bosses etc. and have more aetherial presence in the map itself, the map would like a million times more appealing to fans. We don’t really see zombies maps in daylight and when we do they’re mainly indoors, e.g. kino. There are many exceptions like Shangri-La which if it were at evening or late afternoon it wouldn’t look as good. Ofc there is eclipse mode too.

zombies shouldn't be at cod next at all i feel like if you showed a map whatever it was being MoTD SoE aside from appearance those maps have so many easter eggs and are reliant on them that if you disable easter eggs for them they would just seem like normal boring maps imagine not being able to get the hell's retriever/redeemer or not accessing the bridge on motd or anything really there might be a step in the easter egg where we get a crazy map transformation or even travel to the mansion or something hell maybe we can even get the wunderwaffe?

To be honest I was never hyped for any call of duty but this is just ridiculous. So many people lose their minds over one mediocre map, yet we still have terminus. To be clear anything from Black ops 6 is going to be better than whatever the hell we got in modern warfare 3. When the game comes out just play terminus if not, don't play the game maybe get the new silent Hill 2 or skir ritual you don't have to play Black ops 6.

Sledgehammer seem to try to keep an eye on the community and add accordingly but we should expect a return to usual antics, also treyarch took maps from sledgehammer for competitive cod, so sledgehammer has an oar in, maybe they will be involved over the year adding extra to half assed attempts, who knowd, always a shit show and with the vast community across all styles of play, theyll never please everyone anyway, and everyone has a voice to moan with social media anyway...
