I enjoyed getting the opertunity to test out the Tri-Clone trimmer head. The body of the head is curved so that there is no tangling of grass or brush. I found the weight of the unit to be good. Small trees and grass are both an easy cut. Now I would like to see a reverse nut for my weedeater in the package. Also the washer that I came with the unit was not the right size for my weedeater.

It's not the trimmer, it's a 'not great' connection between the triclone and the spline shaft. Your thrust plate is rubbing along the top because there is no mechanical connection between the triclone and the shaft, just a nut that doesn't have a spring for loading the tension. Every spin-up, hard hit, vine snag, will cause back spin like a loose clutch, it rubs and heats up. It needs a spring washer or lock washer under the nut. I wonder if the manufacturer expected you to attach it with your original bump-head hardware.....

You possibly need to re grease the head (gearbox) of the weedeater.

There's a bolt on the side of the head. Open and apply grease.

not line trimmer per se but brushcutting. why not just use a herbicide like escort on the pest shrubs and be done with it. few trucks of decent topsoil spread on the slope in front of the house and a grass sowing would transform that site. good informative vid. I still prefer the badger head though.

I totally need some topsoil on the hill. It is in great need of some work. Money is what limits me in most of my projects. The badger head is great.

I think that I need to grease my trimmer gearbox and get a washer for the trimmer head.

Seth... reverse threads... left hand threads...an I think you could run a file across the blades... be safe...

Yes I think that the bottom of the blade has an edge. Would be just fine to sharpen them some.

I noticed that the bottom of the blade does have an edge on it. I am not sure how easy they are to sharpen. I bet an angle grinder or file would work.

My dad also has one of these trimmer heads. And his weed eater is brand new. I'm interested to see if he has any problems. My guess is I just need to regrease my gearbox
