Can sense you got scoulded for your honesty. Honesty is good. ECU is not water proof it turns out, as last week 25 mins into ride on the wrong side of a mountain from my jeep, the bike stopped. Could not pull from stopped. A long push and a trip back to dealer, there was water in ECU terminal connection plug and TPS, throttle position sensor. So no big deal , dealer took off every electrical connection with me beside him, air compressed and stuffed all terminals with 'Slippy G1' water proof grease for electrics. Sorted....not just yet. There is a hole in the plastic housing for ECU 10mm square for some unkown reason. This is where water was getting in. Solution, dab of silicone to plug and I have now bagged the ECU and other bits under the saddle in a zip lock bag with a cable tie. Nice and tidy, simple. I love the bike, it makes me want to go out and ride. I have faith that Vertigo will come out with a retrofittable ecu box to cure this work around. Its a great bike and in the motorbike world you must adapt to all situations.....it's not classical dancing we are doing 😀. Great vid again. Well done.

I’m 65 years old and own the 300cc nitro, and to say the least it’s a missle when you open her up and pull the trigger, so that being said its all about throttle control, nice to have the option but if you start getting tired, stop take a break, it will pop out of your hands if your tired and you snap open the throttle she’s gone! Lol

I loved your first review, as it means that when my Nitro gets built it will well greased! :) I do have a complaint with this one though... not enough Dog! Yep, we are back to that! Thanks for keeping it honest!

Hey just got my nitro 250, I love this thing, i was a bit worried as I live in washington state, which is much like UK weather, about the ecu box, but I'm just paying attention to it after every ride, fully agreed about the 250cc comment, I see so many dudes in my class struggle on 3hundo's, I'm gonna take the advise of this bro Matt R below on some preventive maintenance, also could you do a quick video on calibrating the TPS and adjusting idle! that would be rad! Cheers !!! from the PNW, where its wet and greasy!

Love your honest reviews, never change. I made a conscious choice back in 2020 to go for a 250 TRS Raga Racing over a 300, more than enough oomph for me as a clubman here in the Dutch sand. I am no Raga or Danny Butler :) don’t need that power.

Really love watching someone who knows what they're doing, and you do it with such a smile on your face. Enjoyed that one you did with the Fantic. Love to see you on some old school 70s Bultacos or Montesas, or even pre-65 stuff.

Having ridden the 225cc variant I can't see why a clubman would ever need more power than that. I felt at home straight away on the nitro. Can't wait for them to sort an electric start model out.

Ya know i am working in reverse though all the vids I've missed and I have to say that bit at the end is the single, strongest justification for paying for the trials tube + vids ever, I mean I can't afford 'em, so thanks but I might turn enough tricks one day to. I guess what it really comes down to, as Ryan Young and all those style vids are great but they just don't explain it the way an 80's lad needs its telling lol

I completely agree that a 300 is too much for a clubman I just got a gas gas 300 and even with the low compression head it is still way too much. Coming from a beta 250 btw

Danny, I agree in criticism to put the electrics there, BUT it’s still not as bad as what happens in the EM route race where not only they have put the controller there, but you have basically the unsealeable battery connectors to the controller right there in the same spot, plus the unsealable tickover switch again in the same spot. To be honest I am baffled on how my Em was still working perfectly.

Love the TT channel. Now that testing the Nitro has led you to ownership, do you think you can test other brands without bias? Maybe Vert is now your benchmark. Would still like to see a TRS test in the future for comparison. Keep your boots on the pegs!

DB, that electrical stuff with ecu under there seems a water mud magnet, the bike was not shit up to the max, and I guess water will deffo get thrown up into the leccy stuff, and you know what water is like, it gradually gets in. Might be ok for spain, but in uk not so sure? Seems after the efi, and the air box high up so out of mucks way, this is a retrograde step….just my humble opinion bro. Do look nice though, only thing that drives me mad is the crazy constant whine of the fan!

The vast majority of club level riders, would find a 125 or 200, much more fun to ride, and provide improved results. Being over-biked makes forward progress much more difficult, and is something many beginners struggle with. Most of a modern trials machine is made in China, and while that reduces production costs considerably, but not sure if it's something which enhances reliability, or means that parts will still be available 3 or 4 years down the line?

no need to backtrack....if its bad design (which it obviously is), then just tell it like it is. if the importers etc dont like it, then they can re-design it in a better way. putting electrics where they have is asking for trouble imho.

them connections won't stand getting wet all the time, they will corrode! fantastic bike though, if they are that innovative, they will fix the connections getting wet I hope... Now where can I buy a nice cheap used one...
