Trialling 5 New Garlic Varieties 

Since filming, the growth of these has been really interesting. The Italian reds popped up really quickly. This is the subtropical variety I was most worried about. Very little to no movement from the other varieties so far. I'm filming updates along the way, so we can share a detailed video on how they all go. It's really interesting so far, growing these side by side.

Very interested to see how these go. I am doing something very similar and have purchased 4 varieties from the same place as well as planted my best bulbs from last year. The reason I went with the seed garlic shop is there was a great interview with on abc radio (I can’t find it now to link for you) with the grower and she explained about all the different types. Like you I was keen for the best adapted to my climate, the different flavour profiles and the shelf life.

The garlic is beautifully packaged credit to the supplier. Hope they all go well. Like you, our past variety didn't do well last year. We are trying Kangaroo Island Purple. Will love to see the progress.

Looking forward to see how it all goes for you. I had an area n my yard for garlic this year that due to the huge amount of rain was washed out. So now it will be in pots again. I’m really hoping to get some garlic this year as last year I got absolutely nothing 😢 But that’s ok we live and learn. I will grow in the same planters as last year with fresh and fertilised soil. I’ll also ensure to give regular feeds with seasol as I have been told that maybe that was my mistake. Never fear I’ll be following you for tips and tricks as always ❤❤
