Don’t be too hard on yourself. I do Olympic triathlons and the time and energy in training is something but if you really want to do this start running and move to swimming and running that’s how I got into this like you I watched it and decided to do it.
Right, that's what i did myself, and last sunday i had my first triathlon (olympic distances), a very beautiful experience. Now thinking and planning for a half ironman.
hatim laamri outstanding you should be proud of yourself. May I suggest move up to Olympic first though it’s a very big step to go into Ironman unless your absolutely sure some people I’ve seen tried doing that and ended in horrible results
We were in Hyde Park last year, had no idea we were literally walking on the 2012 triathlon course! (Although I was wondering why some of the walkways were extra wide, turns out that was the area where they switched to and from their bikes!) Amazing to watch these guys do their thing.
Ok..... I am 14 and really want to be part of this but I can see a few potential problems. 1. I would probably drown in the swimming section. 2. If I survive, I will be extremely slow anyway... 3. If I make it to the cycling, I'll probably crash at the first corner. 4. If I am still surviving there is probably a cut off and I'll fail that. 5. Dismounting bikes is really annoying because I keep thinking I'll fall off. 6. I can run 5000m in a half decent time but 10000m... never done that... could be tough. 7. Olympians are probably way ahead of me already when they were my age :(
You don’t have to start on their level, find a kids triathlon team in your city or just google triathlons for beginners in your area and work out your own training plan. But be warned once you do one there’s no turning back, you will be hooked!
Really would’ve been interesting to see how A Brownlee would’ve got on in the 10km run event against the field. Unbelievable to be able to run that time after already swimming and cycling 😅😅
*Begins watching video.* Geez they didnt cut it down swimming is long. *Continues watching.* What? They're only on the first lap for the biking!?! *Looks at screen.* Only 30 minutes into a 2 and a half hour long video. *Oh.*
Does anyone else feel a bit annoyed that there is a motorbike in front of the cyclists? I understand the purpose for it , but couldn't you use an electric one? I bike and absolutely cant stand the smell of car exhaust and they are getting a mouth full of it for half the race!!
Greg Jenkins oh god yes and moves to the rest of the pack. Not to mention it messes with you O2 and you need as much on that as you can what do you do Olympic triathlons or sprint?
Coldfury It does admit a little I will grant you that. Problem is where if it’s right in front of you it messes with you. I can cut some slack on small triathlons but something like the Olympics come on. It’s not like an electric bike is going to hurt their budget.
I didn't get into the specifics of London triathlon but from my racing days temperature cutoff for wetsuit is 21.3 degrees not 20 degrees as mentioned by commentators. I don't see why it would be any different for Olympics but who knows?
갓갓갓 tt bike is great for speed and more straight but not so much when you have heavy traffic like this race, so they used these bikes so they can go in and out as they please.
01:47:10 The commentator of an olympic triathlon doesn't know the distances of an Ironman? "What is it, a 120 km Bike Ride and 3,5 km swim..." WHAT? Shame on you.
Noresman is race for age groupers. Please don’t compare age group adventure race with olympic distance triathlon where athletes swim 1500m under 16min and run 10k in 29:07 😂😂😂
You can't draft in ironman races though. If you're passed in an ironman race you have to drop back and let them completely go by you. I believe you have to be at least 7 meters back.
So pissed sat here for half an hour waiting for the medal ceremony and they didn't even show it - if you want to wait for the medals don't waste half an hour just go
Not sure about that. The 15 sec. penalty probably cost Jonathan about 18 - 20 sec. and the difference between him and Gomez was exactly 20sec. It' s a marginal call.
I hope these commentators were banned from any sporting events after this. They have no clue about triathlon. They cannot even spell out the distances for an Ironman Triathlon (the longest distance triathlon, and considered to be the the peak for any triathlete)! Who gave these commentators these jobs!! It is as if, a person is reporting on a 10k run and in the process comments that a Marathon is 40 km run (it is 42.2 km, and the last 2.2 km is everything).
Peak for pro triathletes is Olympic distance. Peak for hobby athletes is Ironman. That’s why Alistair is the GOAT if you ask pro triathletes and Frodo is the GOAT if you ask 14h ironman finishers
It's so you actually put your equipment away and not just chuck it on the floor. Plus a competitor could then trip over or accidentally step on your stuff, which could injure him.
fuu i feel bad about myself........i wannabe like one of them....not olympic champion nothing like that but just to get enough fit to do a small marathon......well at least i have a dream..:)
@@richardhudson4649 have you tried to swim a 1500m, it's not short. I swim 6000m+ each day 6 days a week. When I swim the 1500 at a meet all I want to do is lay down and die after, can't imagine doing a 40km bike and 10km run after that
