This film contains footage from a local, Namibian tribe, images have been blurred, however, parental discretion is advised.
Namibia exposes the overland vehicle build weaknesses and stalls the team's progress, but the biggest problem is not mechanical. A new approach to Africa is critical but the team must decide to concede to the environment vs trying to control it.
The mechanical problems are teaching the team new things every day. The Tundra, Sequoia, and the Tacoma all have separate issues to address, but the show must go on. After all, the obstacle is the way and someone is about to celebrate a very important birthday.
With XO embarking on their longest, remote, section they have ever attempted, travel, logistics and fuel become everything and the smallest details must be calculated.

There is one big sin and that is to mix KWV 5 year old brandy with Coke. If you have to mix it mix it with water or drink it on the rocks or neat. Where did you find this amateur? If you want to be a "damduiker" mix Richelieu or Klipdrift with Coke. Also this is Africa you have to slow down and those poor vehicles running at those speeds on the bad roads. To much modifications are also not a good thing. A standard Land Cruiser 76 or 79 can do the job better. Although I hate them. (I drive a Mercedes g wagon in my opinion the best)

@@alabamafbfan1985What about the 2024 Land Cruiser sold in the states? Even better they could have saved all the trouble with the incompetent South African customs by just rent the Land Cruiser 70's in Botswana. Fly to Botswana and rent the Land Cruisers easy.

@@johanvanzyl5618 this channel builds up American market vehicles. The sponsors sell stuff in states like bumpers, rock sliders, lights, lifts etc. and the videos make us like the products to put on our vehicles. They use these 3 vehicles or other similar US vehicles (they seem to build about one Toyota a year). The vehicles they use are available to American consumers. We are supposed to get the Land Cruiser Prado at some point this year 2024 but have not yet. The last Land Cruiser sold in United States was the 200 series in 2021 I think was our final year. We have the “posh” Lexus version of some land cruisers here but they are more equipped for lighter “family features” compared to 70 series that we have never been able to buy new in our country. We also only get gas motor Toyotas. No diesel Toyota drivetrains avail to us new.

Great video as always, really cool to not only have your boys with you but one celebrating his 18th and a father having a ""first drink" with his son is something to remember. I'm enjoying your friends on this trip, just the way south africans (and Brits) talk, it seems so propper compared to us Canadians/Americans, the little "The breakfast Oreo" "I didn't know people did that..." "they don't" haha was great. The fact you stumbled into meeting a tribe and chief is unbelievable, that is such a rare thing to experience. Really looking forward to the next episode. Cheers !

A comment for the whole channel: Astonishing production quality video after video.... This is really tough to do iteration after iteration! I can see the work and planning that goes into these episodes as well as the editing and sound production... There is always plenty that goes on with expeditions like this that cannot be planned for yet needs to be shot nonetheless, yet the effort that goes into research, planning and shooting for the edit makes for remarkable story-telling... And, in the midst of all that is the wonder, joy, and respect for what you are doing and where you are, and who you are meeting that is most engaging and simply awesomely enjoyable to view! It could be said that you have decided to make the world your university - and it shows! In the domain of overlanding right now there are very few who can approach the production quality you are achieving and this is no criticism of those others since nearly all of them are one-man or one-woman shows and they do awesome work too! Adrian and Christoff you have met and they are not only fantastic individuals, but, just like your crew, really manage to communicate the awe and the wonder and the joy and respect that should be the touchstone of overlanding... It only remains for me to extend my congratulations and a heartfelt desire to see and view you and the crew on the tracks of the world for decades to come!

Rigid schedules are brutal. Old and valuable advice... when you stop for the night, always spend 2 nights in each place. Enjoy the place philosophy. Also, it allows for delays and exploring cool stuff along the way without adding pressure to the trip. Yes you'll only cover half the distance but it will be a better experience. My two cents :) The videography is on point!
@jacobott4847
@jacobott4847 3 месяца назад
I fully agree. I've enjoyed this series, but I feel they are moving too fast and covering too much ground. Unless it's truly just a transit day, 2 nights is minimum and some places need 3 or more to fully be appreciated.

I would also agree outside of a film schedule. Part of the hard side of filming what we do. Outside of filming two nights is a must. I’m with ya.
