Abdul's insights into these performances always seem to hit the core meaning of the message of these songs. Even when he does not understand the language, he still seems to feel the human emotion behind it.
And he was spot on stating Phil was a musician before he was a singer. Exactly as it happened. Peter Gabriel left Genesis, Phil stepped up and started singing as well. Abdul never ceases to amaze me.
Abdul has great perception and insight when he says, " I think he must have had a lot of worries in life. Illness comes either when you worry or think too much." "...he undoubtedly had more inner wounds than outer ones." God bless you all at Trybals.🙏
G'day from Australia 🇦🇺 I love how these tribal men understand exactly what the song is about without understanding English 😊 It just shows that music is a universal language ❤
It always surprises me how accurate Abdul is in his analysis of a song without knowing the lyrics just by using the music and the performance by the artist.
I saw Phil Collins in concert many years ago...and it was one of thee most fantastic concerts I had ever seen! I am so glad you all were able to experience his incredible music. As the gentlemen were reacting to what they were hearing and seeing, it actually brought tears to my eyes. Music is the bridge that allows us all to be as one! ❤
I have watched In The Air tonight and hear it on the radio over 100 times and no matter how many times I watch it or hear it, the moment Phil plays drums, I get chills and good bumps all over. I am glad everyone loved and seeing their reaction was priceless. Love and blessings to you all.
I find, no matter how many times I watch this performance, I am holding my breath at the end. I don't realize that until the very end, when Phil releases the pressure and I can breath again! Amazing. (and such breath control Collins has to make it all seem so effortless)
I've watched a few of these Tribal videos now. Can I assume that Abdul is a tribal elder? He sits there nodding quietly then comes out with the most sage insightful comments. It's a joy to watch.
You all appreciated a true legend! Life/time has not been kind to him physically, BUT HE HAS given us some if the GREATEST music from the 80s! His live performances with Eric Clapton would be worth looking at! God Bless ✝️🙏🏻
This was an excellent choice of a song. It's unique, even in the context of the time it was released. These gentlemen had good insights on what they observed while listening. Good stuff.
Abdul is so incredibly wise. I always love listening to what he has to say. Thank you SO MUCH for the English subtitles so that we can understand what they are saying! Sending love from South Africa!
*If anyone thinks the size of this crowd is impressive, in July 1987 Phil played four consecutive sellout nights at the 80,000-capacity Wembley Stadium with Genesis. It was a record at the time and stood for five years until Michael Jackson played seven nights. In 1986/1987 Genesis were likely the biggest musical act on the planet, as in addition to the four nights at Wembley their 1986 album 'Invisible Touch' went to No.1 in the US and spawned a remarkable five Top 5 US singles. This of course was also in the midst of Phil's incredible solo success.*
Love the intensity Abdul gives to what he is watching. And to hit the nail on the head about phil and drumming, how did you guess that? Its not often i watch stuff like this but i absolutely love your reactions.
Wow!!! I was literally watching this performance this morning! I am always humbled to see someone enjoy new music/ experiences… especially from a culture I have little knowledge of. Thank all of you for sharing this!!!
I am so glad you played this song! I love it! The surprising sudden drum playing is epic! Thank you for sharing this one! I could watch this song forever! He has said in interviews that he wrote this song while going through a divorce.
Wow, I've been watching a lot of reactions on both this and Adnan's private channel and generally like them a lot (that's why I'm coming back...) - this was a special one, please give my kindest regards to your guests, they are amazing people! Peace and love from Bavaria!
Love, hugs and great appreciation to these gentlemen, from Chicago. So enjoy this channel and the intellectual insights from the other side of the world.
I just love to see people hear this song for the first time.. it is an incredible song.. and that moment when he comes in with the drums. Brilliant reaction from a surprisingly open minded group of guys.
I love hearing what Abdul has to say. He's open minded, non-judgemental, and appreciative of music and poetry. No disrespect to anyone else, of course. I just have a soft spot for Abdul. 😊🎉
I got to see Phil with Genesis twice on their Mama tour. Phil was an incredible showman, has a wonderful sense of humor, he was a great front man and vocalist and an astonishing drummer. His drums have a familiar "bark" and you could always tell when Phil was playing on a song on the radio in the 80s. He's 1 of 1.
"Wait for it" Excellent suggestion. It's so unusual to drop the beat half way through the piece. It changes the whole tone in an instant. Thanks for sharing this one.
The most iconic divorce song on the planet! Love watching people react to this performance! Such a mesmerizing experience! Your insight is spot on! Phil has a wonderful catalog of great music!😎✌🏻
I am guessing these are your friend, father, and grandfather (Chacha) and this is such a pleasure to watch their honest reactions. I enjoy all of their reactions and look forward to seeing more. Keep it up! You have kind and wise people in your world.
It's probably worth mentioning, Here in the West this track is -very- well known. There isn't a single person in that arena who wasn't waiting for Phil to sit down and start wailing on the skins. And as entrances go, it's an absolute masterclass in dramatic timing.
I almost skipped this one! I'm so glad I didn't! I loved the editing of this one, showing all three guests together at the end. The performance of Phil Collins and his band was spectacular. What a show! What a show! I loved everything about the video they watched, everything about the guests' comments and feedback, and everything about the editing (except for the closed caption covering up the video on the lower left). Thank you so much for putting this together.
Can genuinely say I love these men. Great people. Great hearts and minds. Always looking forward to these videos. The clothes are very stylish too. Always love it ❤Mr Abdul Aziz Rind Baloch always sound so wise. I love his voice, beard, heavy eyebrows and his eyes. Very lively, sparkly eyes.
its very surprising, growing up we were taught that very religious people were judgemental to those who went through divorce. to see an elder like Abdul be very empathetic to them, and addicts and those suffering. it may seem stupid but i truly thought muslims would be very harsh towards alcoholics or addicts, those that had failed marriage etc. its so refreshing to see that people i have no ties to still think the same way most here do. i guess we all are human and have to feel empathy towards those straying from the path.
There is a very rare kind of people who actually believe in the religion they preach and so, truly care about others. I’ve seen it in devout Christians too : there are bigots and there are spiritual people.
Absolutely wonderful watching such intelligent and thoughtful people of a culture different from the artist’s. I’m very much enjoying their thoughts about music that I grew up with and love.
We are not so different, yet I can learn so much from listening to someone with a slightly different perspective. My species will only survive by learning to respect and love each other. Sir, this is the way.
What tribe are they? With his love of black music, Phil Collins has a lot of tribal rhythms in his soul. We can hear it in most of his drumming and singing. Plus, some swagger too.
Phil Collins is such an icon. I loved the music he did in Brother Bear and Tarzan. One performance I highly suggest looking into is Fleetwood Mac's song The Chain, especially their 1982 live show. The band has such amazing chemistry together.
Thank you gentlemen for reacting to Pill Collins,he was a great singer and drummer. He was in the band Genesis. He has may great songs.I would like to ask you to react to one of my favorite guitar players and singers.Frank Marino, who is from Canada, the song is It's Begun To Rain from his Live at the Agora concert. It is a long song, but you will see a very fine guitarist and singer.I wish you all peace!
Thanks for showing this monumental piece of modern Western music to your people. To me it means - above the meaning of the song - how to present something perfectly on stage. A recommendation: Journey - Separate Ways - Live in Japan 2017. The background story is that this iconic American band's original singer left them for personal reasons. Later, the guitarist has seen a young man perform their song in Philippines on RU-vid. He was so impressed that they invited him over for a rehearsal and they got him as the new singer since them.
You guys should review a tragically hip song...like new Orleans is sinking or grace to...little bones...so many I'd love to know what they think of a true Canadian band..I still believe this channel should be given awards...music unites us like nothing else...to share culture, you are sharing your heart...we need more of this from all people world wide...for when we understand each other...we can live in peace together...keep up the great work guys...just a fantastic channel
I don't know if you take suggestions for songs, but often the guitar solo seems to be enjoyed greatly, so I would suggest "Free Bird, by Lynyrd Skynyrd", because the guitar solo in that song is mind blowing.
Thank you guys for this beautiful reaction video. You have been well prepared and informed. There are so much more great songs from Phil and it's worth looking at his catalogue. "Another day in paradise" to give you just one example. Switching back to Dire Straits. Live version of "Telegraph Road" from the same concert like "Sultans of Swing "(Alchemy) is also a master peace and worth experience it. Alle the best for your guys and especially good health. Greetings from Munich
