This absolutely is spot on the most American meal you have ever shown. This is also THE comfort food for a kid when you are sick. Grilled Cheese and tomato soup for the win. It's basic, it's simple everyone can afford it, and its easy on your stomach, and kids and adults love it. This is food that is good for your soul.
I've never ever seen that, but then again, it's considered a “white” combination because because I live in a mostly Mexican-American and Hispanic city. I've always just eaten the grilled cheese sandwich by itself.
@@humanity_moment. It may be very Much an Appalachian thing..... but the two pair well as an ultimate comfort food. They're also cheap, so it's maybe a poorer hillbilly white thang traditionally. I dunno what the American-Mexican equivilent is when you're sick as a kid...maybe a Quesadilla with Pozole Rojo? :D Just playin. I LOVE southwestern food though ..esp when it's HOME cooked south western food. I may be part Mexican by association... :D
Mama is a funny person. I'm so glad he is healthy again. Gave us quite a scare. Mmmm, grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup is one of my favorite lunches in winter. And yes, I do dip the sandwich into the soup.
He was very sick and was in the hospital for a long stay. I never knew what was wrong, didn't feel it was polite to ask if the info wasn't offered. We were very worried, but he pulled through and has color in his face again.
DEFINITELY no insult at all,, Many people love to dip their grilled cheese sandwich in their tomato soup..This sandwich & soup is a match made in heaven❤
I live in Wisconsin, cheese capital of the USA. And we do eat a lot of cheese, and grilled cheese with tomato soup is our comfort food. I'm glad some of you liked it!
I was never a big cheese lover, but a grilled cheese (not too much cheese) reminds me of childhood. Tomato soup is a plus! I loved seeing everyone’s reactions. These videos always make me smile. I appreciate everything involved in making these videos, thank you to everyone! 🙏🏻♥️
A grilled cheese is a great springboard for other sandwiches called melts - you choose the cheese, but also meat and/or veggies or other toppings, and then you cook the whole thing.
Maybe tomato soup styles are regional, but the soup looks a little more watery than I have ever seen or eaten it. It is usually thicker where I have had or made it. What about y'all?
I am so Surprised that they all ate some! Yes, cheese is weird, some have trouble digesting it and you have to be careful eating too much! But cheese can taste really good! I am glad they gave it a try! Naseeba wasn’t too thrilled and now she is going to scare rahdah! 😂❤
Mustapha is noT fooling anyone with that tiny, lil' bitty bread nibble- we alL know you didn't touch that delicious 🧀 lols but for the rest who enjoyed it, kudos to you for trying and discovering the beauty of such a classic 🥪!!!
Most definitely yes dip your grilled cheese sandwich in tomato soup. It's a perfect combination together. Also yes, it's good in winter. Warms you right up.
Naseeba was in rare form! LOL She makes me laugh all the time. Manzoor had the right idea - dip the sandwich in the soup. Yum! Americans will often have grilled cheese and tomato soup during the winter. It's an American favorite comfort food. Wonder if everyone would like it better in winter? Maybe they could try it again in the wintertime.
It's an acquired taste. The first time I had it was at the house of an American friend. It was essentially grilled buttered bread and tasteless cheese and they served it with CANNED tomato soup which I found completely inedible. Maybe it would have been different if the cheese had been tasty and the soup made out of fresh tomatoes.
@@miriamepage6991 I started eating it when I was little and we continue to have it years and years later. You're right...the bread is buttered on the outside, the cheese is on the inside and then it is cooked (fried) to a golden brown. The soup is canned tomato soup, that is true; however, there is some really good canned tomato soup with basil, etc. Although, now you have me wondering what it would taste like with homemade tomato soup.
@@InvestigatingDavidCrowley you've got to try it. It's really simple to make. You should definitely try! Italian tomatoes, onions, a bit of garlic, oregano, olive oil, chicken stock (I make my own), salt pepper. There;s several variations, using roasted tomatoes, red peppers, vegetable stock, cream, etc. There are several recipes around. As someone used to fresh food, canned things tend to taste and smell weird.
Glad I sat down and grabbed the dining room table top before watching this video share. The combination of tribal people costumes, their expressions & sounds were TOO Much. Thank you this epic fun. Thank you!
@@Lassisvulgaris What are u smoking? He always nibbles a corner of bread without tasting the actual food, then he just makes up a lie about liking it so they keep paying him. Hes completely useless on a food trying channel
Marsha here You guys are awesome!!! I actually love middle eastern food much more than a grilled cheese... I'm glad u guys got to try the grilled cheese. God bless you... Jesus loves you...
The cheese stretch is a wonderful part of the sandwich! 0:33 - the whole sandwich vs. burger debate is one I don't expect to be solved in our lifetime.
We all dip the sandwich in the soup, and it is more of a winter meal for me at least. Thats the reason they go so well together. Thank you again from Michigan, USA
I tend to go fancy with my grilled cheese. Like using grilled onions and gruyere or Swiss and having beef broth with it. It’s like a French onion soup/sandwich
mehboob might as well be American his instincts are spot on, first thing he said do i dunk it in? if i was there i would've said hell yes! lol he's my favorite.
One of my other favorite tribal shows served the grilled cheese sandwich, but without the tomato soup. The comments were filled saying that they needed to have the tomato soup. Thanks for adding it.❤
I don't really ever have tomato soup, unless I have a grilled cheese sandwich to dip in it. 😂 It's the perfect combination! Some people like grilled cheese and sliced tomato sandwiches, some add bacon (it would be turkey or beef bacon for the participants). I prefer mine plain with the soup on the side. 💛🕊🙏🏻
Grilled cheese and tomato soup is my #1 "comfort food." I like to make the soup creamy, using milk instead of water, plus lots of garlic. My favorite grilled cheese is Muenster cheese on sourdough bread. Extra delicious when dunked in the soup. :)
I am from America...i make this at least once a month. Kids wont touch the tomato soup...we use milk instead of water though. Glad they liked it mostly. Simple, fast food.
I'm on the kids side. I'm ancient now, and never liked tomato soup. Any other soup is preferable, even cream of mushroom which most kids probably think is gross.
As a senior person of 69 years, here are the ORIGINAL ingredients of a grilled cheese sandwich. * Two slices of presliced Wonder brand loaf bread. It is made with very refined white flour and is very soft. NO SUBSTITUTIONS. * Real butter * One slice of orange colored Kraft American Cheese Slices, . NO SUBSTITUTION * One can of Campbell's Condensed Tomato Soup. NO SUBSTITUTIONS.
My cousin used to make grilled cheese sandwiches with really sharp or strong tasting cheese and cayenne pepper sprinkled inside the sandwich. And added a little garlic to the butter they wete cooked in. The best sandeiches i ever had.
The tomatoe soup looked runny, I like mine thick with lots of pepper. Think they might have liked that style better. Grilled Cheses looked amazing though.
I'm sure y'all have heard this before, but I have to say, I'm really impressed at Mama always giving a (small) try of everything even though he clearly doesn't like much foreign food. I don't know if I'd be able to manage that so much.
That great grill cheese is the result of many hardworking dedicated dairy farmers an grain farmers an baker's alot of love an dedication before it ever touches the mouth
I love their reactions when trying new foods!! And I love their conversations and stories when they talk! It’s all so very interesting to watch! I don’t think I have ever had any weird bizarre after eating cheese but I guess I will have to try it out to make sure😅
Oh yeah, pretty much any chutney would go great with the sandwich as well! That is one of the great things about the grilled cheese, it's just the base of the meal, you can build around it as you see fit! I love seeing how people from different cultures make grilled cheese sandwiches here!
We don't really follow those fake holidays and food appreciation days. They may be on some calendars but we only celebrate the big major holidays. On average about 1 a month.
One figured out the best way to eat it at the end. Dip it! 😁 On a side note, I liked the hats the guys were wearing, and the ladies seemed like they would be fun to hang out with.❤
A proper grilled cheese sandwich is made with excellent bread slathered with excellent butter and toasted with the best cheese and thinly sliced heirloom tomato with fresh herbs of your choosing and salt and pepper.
The tomato soup looked thin. Usually you put milk in the tomato soup so it's creamier. Maybe some use water in it. I like to season the soup with salt or Adobe, smoked paprika ,onion powder black pepper and parsley. I'm glad they tried it.
