Bighit /hybe is actually a lot bigger than all big3 labels combined in terms of money and revenue ,but big3 is called as such because they are kinda like very first labels who used to prouduce the first and the most famous groups in sk before bts came in and they basically run every K-pop shows and variety which helps their artist gets more screen time ,show slots etc . Hybe have money but they don’t have enough connection in sk.
Armies found out recently that before bts became big that big hit was millions of dollars in debt. We knew they were close to bankruptcy but we didn’t know how much they were struggling. Bts changed everything and they deserve they’re flowers. I love the boys so much and I’m glad that they have succeeded :)

Oh, SuperM is another group. They did that "jumping & popping is jopping" song, dubbed *the avengers of kpop* 😂 I do really like wayv tho. Its nct's Chinese members, so they have a more unique sound tha the other subunits. They sing/rap mostly in Chinese. The other SM group i like is red velvet, a girl group. Have you checked them out? They have 2 sides to themselves, the *red* side & the *velvet* side. "Red" is their vivid and bold image while "Velvet" stands for their softer and more mature side. These two sides reflect the songs they release. Some groups under jyp are: Stray kids: - i love them Twice - my kids love them, girl group Itzy - girl group. I like quite a few songs just for fun Day 6 - kband Xdinary heroes- rock band. They slay imo. Their latest album is very pop punk, i think of bowling for soup & simple plan with this album. Yg entertainment; Big bang - i like big bang, minus seungri Blackpink- meh, theres a couple songs i like just for fun Akmu - brother sister duo with a unique & funky style. I dig them 41:38 i think the reason some of the other fandoms seem corny, & this is no disrespect to them, but most k pop fans are teenages. ARMY is unique in that it reaches across all age groups in almost equal proportions. I think another kpop fandom (other than ARMY) with a broader age reach is Seventeen's. I don't follow them, their music is not always it for me, but I have a lot of carats among my contacts and I see the topics the band touches are closer to BTS than other artists. I think it might be the reason there is more diversity in those fandoms, there are more reasons to relate / engage

I mostly dislike olivia on principal for the weird and disrespectful promotions they did a while back. It’s also really obvious how much industry support she gets. Pissed me off so I will never listen to anything willingly. Her music does seem to go more towards the teenage first love and breakup stuff. If you’re curious, I’d say go for it but I personally wouldn’t care if you didn’t either.
I’m a swiftie (Taylor swift fan lmao) and a bts fan. Taylor definitely has had it 100x easier than bts…she’s a white western artists and so has always been afforded more opportunity than bts. But she is also incredibly talented & has put a lot of hard work in. I think you would like a lot of her music as you care about lyrics, and her ability to write lyrics is superb and poetic. But again, she has been given A LOT that bts never will never be given and it’s definitely helped her career.

BigHit or now Hybe is at least as big as the Big3 companies these days if not bigger. however, BigHit grew on BTS' success so Hybe's biggest advantage is money - in that sense Hybe is way above Big3. but Big3 were big in South korea when BigHit was nothing so what they have in their pocket is connections, ties with every aspect of South korea music industry and media, that's where they still rule. bighit or hybe don't have connections they can use because they were an underdog

No big hit was not part of the big three music labels and they still aren’t because artists from the “big three” have always had privileges, even before debut a group can become huge if they are from those 3 companies even if they make trash music lmao. But I would consider big hit to be number 1 now. I don’t believe there are the “big three” anymore it’s just big hit/hybe at the top because they have the biggest artist in the world under their label. Also there are only 3 music artists under big hit (bts, txt, and lee hyun) but hybe is different they are a corporation so they own big hit and many other artists under other companies including American artists like Justin Bieber. That is why we shouldn’t call it the “big three” anymore, because they’re is only one superior even if they don’t like it which is big hit/hybe. As ARMY, we know that these 3 can make their own groups "successful" in the media while they aren't and often, articles about the success of bts are no found (yes, for years we told to everyone that the big 3 pay for that to happen). 4- BigHit is now one of the most successful music companies who funded the actual HYBE Labels, who are NOW the one and only big music company in Korea (stepping on the big 3) but the only difference is that BigHit =/= Big 3 because they don't pay for BTS or TXT success (TXT is the only second group after BTS inside BigHit) 5- The most irritating part of the whole music industry is that we need CONSTANTLY to prove that BTS isn't like any other outside, it's tiring and frustrating a lot of the times because while we, as fandom, are constantly fighting for bangtan's success, other artists doing the bare minimum are taking all of our efforts all the fuckng time just because bangtan aren't from USA and it's frustrating. We are constantly pointing the fingers rightfully and we are always the ""clowns"" for that... BigHit/HYBE is the biggest out of the agencies managing idols right now, but historically (and few years ago) the big companies were YG, SM and JYP. All these three companies are bad news, tbh. I do enjoy a few of their groups (except for YG, everything's trash over there) but they're all very problematic in many ways you can think of. Just few days ago an ex YG CEO got arrested. Those companies have several issues, from racism/cultural appropriation to judicial problems. It's a mess.

The "Big 3" title came from them being one of the first kpop agencies, not bc they're necessarily the biggest or richest. They started that culture and have the most power in the industry, bighit doesn't have all those connections or influence, only Bts does. So bighit alone doesn't compare to the "Big 3" but "Big 3" even together don't stand a chance against Bts. Hope this helps :)
25:00 as someone who’s been into kpop since first gen, the Big 3 kpop companies are the Big 3 cuz of their money, power, influence, and connections in the kpop industry. The main difference between them and hybe/bighit is that the Big 3 has power over broadcast stations, journalists, and media due to the fact that the Big 3 has been around for decades. For example, when DBSK broke up, SM basically blacklisted the three members who tried to continue their career outside of SM from the kpop industry. They had trouble trying to revive their careers due to being blacklisted from broadcasts, articles, tv, etc etc. Hybe/bighit is massively successful and has a ton of money now but they haven’t reached the level of influence the Big 3 has. Yet anyways. Imo, I feel like they are slowly gaining more influence and connections but we as fans don’t see the behind the scenes deals.

The Big 3 companies are not necessarily determined by how big they are. Not anymore anyway. But they used to be the biggest and still maintain the status quo, because they have the name and the status, even if they are not really that successful anymore. They still have connections in the industry. Hybe is relatively new and grew from nothing, so they can still be sort of looked down upon by people in the SK music industry, who have connections and money in the Big 3. Obviously, those people aren't gonna like that a broke company surpassed them with some "nugu" group no one was betting their money on.
sm is probably the worst company (maybe yg is up there too). they have been sued by their own artists waaay too many times. there's this group called red velvet, they're amazing but sm uses them as a cover up every time there's a scandal, it's a joke at this point "the ceo is getting a huge fine for tax evation we're getting a red velvet comeback 😜". the group is very unique tho, i think you would like it
red velvet is a gg part of sm (they’re disbanding next year😢) if u enjoy artsy stuff you’ll enjoy their mvs and photoshoots. i personally enjoy their title tracks but i don’t really listen to them beyond that. i hear their vocalists are considered some of the best in the industry tho n they really r talented

Bighit is not one of the Big 3 labels since Hybe is still new. The Big 3 are so influential because they managed to be big when kpop industry is booming. I would say around the 90s and 2000s. Before bts, the big 3 already produced numerous groups that are successful and brought high ratings to any TV stations. Thats why they hold so much power. At least thats how I interpret them.
