It doesn't promise that everything will get better, but it gives you understanding and simply tells you that everything will pass some day. 💜 This playlist (yeah playlist bcs RM himself said it was more of a playlist rather than a mixtape) is my comfort zone when I'm too depressed for even the Magic Shop 😅😅 RM really gave us a gift with this one. honestly when i feel like my worst, i start with bts songs where u can articulate ur thoughts like zero o'clock, uh good, moonchild, then gradually move to songs that gives u hope like 2 3!, everythingoes, then to songs that makes u understand and forgive urself like epiphany, magic shop
That's the reason why I can't relate with this mixtape. I think mono is great but I'm never in the need of being comforted. Never sad enough to feel i need to listen mono😅, but i don enjoy it a few times per year
Namjoon has been given a nickname by koreans as THE PHILOSOPHER WHO RAPS 😂. This album literally saved my life when jt came out, and till this day it's still my comfort zone. That's why joon will always have a special part in my life and an even more special place in my heart. I always feel like I'm heard when i listen to his music/speeches/lives/letters....
This album just feel like one big warm hug. It's like he's telling you that everyone is going through the same shit we are all just great at pretending and it's ok if you feel like shit once in a while you'll figure it all out eventually. It makes me emotional every listen😭

Hmm not to hijack RMs time ,since RM is so worth doing a week for (and even more since he has so many collabs and you haven't even gotten to INDIGO yet which will need to be dissected to the fullest!!!) anyway EPIK HIGH, the reason WHY RM got into rhythm and poetry, is worth listening to as well. RM is close with their frontsman Tablo. Tablo and his krew are incredible, and their backstory of growth and despair worthy to explore. They are still around despite some experiencing some hard knocks in life and their career which was basically interrupted for nearly 10-20 years due to seriously crappy ppl.
RM's SEOUL is my introduction to Bts. I was homesick after moving to a new place. And came across this song while randomly listening to whatever music I see on ytube. And I swear I got emotional at how accurate this song is. And I didn't even know he was part of Bts.
The day I listened to moonchild for the first time was one of the toughest days of my life, when I just wanted to cease to exist. I cried so hard as I listened to this song. The line “when you want to die, you live that much harder” has been engraved in my soul. It is like a marker for me - no matter how dark things have been, I am still here. Always and forever grateful that we have Namjoon. 💜
mono is probably my favourite out of all members' solo projects and tokyo & everythingoes are one of my absolutely utmost favourite songs ever. the lyrics, the depth, the messages he conveys ... man he truly is damn poet

This album gets better with every listen, especially if you listen to it during hard times. I remember not liking how the songs sounded the first time I listened, and not understanding the meaning behind the lyrics. But now it’s my comfort album, and the songs sound so, so good. To me, it’s the kind of album that needs time to cement before being evaluated

Mono is an album very close to my heart. I still remember listening to uh good on repeat during a time in my life when i was not doing good. It felt like RM just sat right there with me while I felt the pain within me and told me "I'll stay with you until you feel better."
Mono is a cathartic gift from Joon to express our pain and loneliness so we can finally feel understood and heard. Like his lyrics say, someone can heal from ur thorns - joon showed us his thorns and our own thorns are more bearable because of it

It’s the way that all three of Namjoon’s albums (one called a mixtape, one called a playlist, and the last an individual official solo album) is all part of him and things that needed to be said at the time they were said. While he may look back and think he shouldn’t have said or released something, it was all him at different times of his life and to see his growth in his albums?! That has been an honor that I am so thankful he allowed us to see. Mono is such a comfort album. Even the beats are comforting. From RM to Mono - that growth from him was amazing to see but to also see his inner thoughts was, and still is, astonishing. I love his albums so much. I love what he needs to say for himself, no one else. While his first mixtape was definitely towards some folks, he was struggling inside with his own identity even then when writing those songs. We all change and grow as time goes by and he’s had to do it in the public eye so it is a bit more harsh. I think he’s done well in finding himself and being with a company that allowed that to happen. Their solo work is all on them, they’re not censored (for the most part cuz we don’t want anything problematic being said or done obviously cuz that’s just rude and wrong - and I mean legit problematic things) with anything they want to say. Which is why it’s different from their group work cuz that needs to reflect the group as a whole best it can! Anyways, I’m thoroughly enjoying this, onto the next part!

Namjoon is a poet, all his albums are masterpieces. This album is a hug to our souls. Namjoon also helps the vocal line to write their songs he is a kind, wise, intelligent man and the best leader💜

mono is my comfort playlist, I cried the first time I listened to it when it was released, I couldn't understand the Korean words but I cried... and when everythingoes played... I just lost it. Moonchild and Uhgood might be my favorites, because I relate to the lyrics, but still it's really difficult to chose between songs that are this beautiful

I'm here early for once, yay! One thing I appreciate about namjoon is his range and versatility. From his first mixtape to mono, he is consistently excellent but always different. Then again, icould say that about all of the rapline and BTS's entire discography XD Truly no skips and no misses
mono feels like the warmest, most comforting hug... joon's voice feels like a warm blanket all around you, nothing can describe the feeling of listening to mono when you're exhausted and sick of the world. i honestly don't even listen to these songs unless i desperately need that comfort, because they make me feel so vulnerable. i'm so grateful for songs like these, they genuinely help me get through life, i honestly don't know what i would've done in 2020 without bts' music. it's not a coincidence that they're this loved by millions of people.
mono is that album that help you understand yourself, make u think about yourself, help put ur thoughts into words and in the end better yourself for it.

Mono was released right when I was struggling so hard back then… the saying (or something similar) ‘bts will find you the moment you need them the most’ is so true. This playlist comforted me so much, i would listen to it every morning and it felt like a warm blanket around me. I’m glad to say im out of that mindset now like rm, and Indigo is my new comfort album.

Mono is a masterpiece from beginning to end. Still my favorite collection of songs from BTS or a member, and I'm not even a Namjoon bias. It does not have to be Seoul. Anyone who moved from a small town to a big city as a young adult on their own (like me) will intensely relate to this collection of songs. It captures a mood perfectly.
Mono is a therapist set to music. It speaks to your soul and lets you know that as bad as this get, you aren’t alone in feeling that way. It was the most beautiful gift RM gave us. PS: I love that you are using Doolset’s lyrics!! 💜

Mono is art. A timeless masterpiece. Probably one of the best albums ever. If there is an album I’d ever save in case of an apocalypse to represent the best of humanity, it’s this. It’s up there with a Beatles album for me.

The song Moonchild created Moonchild legions in social media. They will have the moon emoji, moon, or moonchild in their name. I think Jimin got the moon tattoo partly because of this song just like he has Nevermind tattoo on his chest like says in SUGA's lyrics for Nevermind. Jimin tattoo's things that are very meaningful, and he is always grateful to RM who has helped him with music and even gifted him Serendipity. RM is so selfless. He writes songs for the boys from their perspective and suited for their voice over the years to keep them happy and help them learn to make music themselves. RM was raising them from early on. For a few years now, they all get an opportunity to write for the same song and the best one is chosen. BE was different. Each of them were in control of contributing a song. Growth.
mono. feels like a warm bath after a long, hard day. you're alone, vulnerable, left to your own thoughts, but surrounded by a soothing warmth at least for a little while. it's one of my favorite projects; although RM doesn't promise you that you will be happy, rather he sits in the pain with you, to feel seen, and to gather the courage to fight harder for the next day, and the rest of the days ahead.
The way this album comforted me when I was suffering with covid pneumonia last year and felt like giving up on life. Joon really personified comfort and healing with this album. Always grateful for bts🫶🏼

When you're feeling down, done with everything, no energy in your reserves, its like a soothing balm to your soul; telling you its okay to feel them, he does too, so we'll just immerse ourselves in it together. On days that are still better than most, its like a calm companion staying every step of your way letting you know you're not alone. Its a beautiful album. Precious almost. One that only gets better with each listen. I hope mono becomes that way for you as well.

I remember crying so much when i listen this album first time , it's like he is just seeing right through me without even knowing me ..... This album make me feel vulnerable and sad it's like he is piercing my heart and taking all my dark thoughts out but at the same time it's make feel being cared , heard and assured me to accept myself the way i am, trying to improve myself if i feel tired of myself i just can't explain my exact thoughts through the word but whenever i feel sad and low self-esteem i came abd heard MONO and cried till i feel good because i hardly cry no matter how much i am suffering ......

Its a great mixtape. We love it! 💜 Though RM said he would like to go back and remove a song or two. Wonder which ones. We are fortunate to have you as one of the few intelligent reactors who go through the lyrics. Do watch his first album Indigo. And then the live performance of the album in front of a small cosy crowd of 200 people in a hall that he used to look at longingly as not yet successful bts. That was where all well known rappers performed then.

BTS said in their last Festa that they clung too long religiously to the group thing, meaning solos should have been done earlier. And I agree, Mono should have been a fucking album not a mixtape and won a Grammy if you ask me, it's that beautiful. It's so beloved by many people, yet when it came out as a mixtape other people wouldn't take it as serious. I wish they would relaunch it somehow. But RM is on new paths already.

What you said at the end of video about your future you is literally a similar conversation I had with my 24 yr old son just today. He expressed a similar sentiment and I told him that it is important to have goals and things to work toward but your vision of who you are cannot be based on some future events. It robs you of your identity and your present. You cannot live in the future because the only thing you will be when you get there is older. Life is a long winding path and not a destination. I am 52 and my future is still uncertain. Much love.
