Remember being on the dueling servers when this dropped. Loved scrims in this game. FPS games wish they had this skill gap to justify the try hards nowadays.
Wow, HD makes this so much better. I couldn't tell how they were getting their spinfusors to detonate in the air, and here in the HD version, the resolution is much better, and you can actually see that they're throwing their grenades, which they then shoot in order to get the distance. Now it makes more sense. Truly an incredible video series.
So many Lans, So many clan matches. Thanks for the upload. I doubt anyone who has never played will ever appreciate this game like those of us that gave it our all :)
I loaded this up again a couple years ago and was terribly disappointed with how things had become. Very few players, and all either playing crazy mods which weren't very fun for me, or only playing these "LT" maps which stripped out so much of the depth of the game.
There's just something about the graphics. I don't know if it's the style, the simplicity, or what...but it makes the game look legitimately fun. It's not trying to show off (it can't, not in 2011), it's just serving one purpose: facilitate the greatest games known to man.
This is so true. Yeah it doesn't have the shiny graphics of Tribes Ascend, but it just played better from an individual players skillset. The loadout control, the movement control was sooo much better. Ascend is so auto kill easy in a sense. Additionally no tribes game after tribes 2 has been able to emulate chasing like it existed in Tribes 1 and 2. I dont know if thats an issue with the unreal engine or not. Chasing sucked in Tribes Vengeance and it sucks in Tribes Ascend.
I rekon.... so glad i'm uncapped... maybe i'll see some of my old tribing mates. Already ran into one the other week. Good times! Pity they never remade the game with better graphics... but pfft who needs awesome graphics when its a great game?
in starsiege tribes, back when it was popular.do people jumped like 4vs1?did they camped at their base, like 6 people waiting for flag capper to kill him and all jump on 1 capper to destroy him.i want to compare players in starsiege and ascend
That's when you realized the physics in Ascend sucks and all the limited loadout issues and hitscan everything everywhere. Each weapon has its own hit box lol.
@AsunaNegiKota Have you played tge new one yet? I got a closed beta key from a buddy of mine, it was quite nostalgic for me. Then I reinstalled the first and second tribes games.
Apparently the MechWarrior:Living Legends devs were big fans, because Battle Armor combat in MWLL looks just like this. Well, except for the bodies flying across half the map :)
