Now that i have rewatched this video in 2024, i appreciate this Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 more, it's a wonderful little versatile speaker, now through the app i was able to upgrade the firmware from 1.2.4 to the latest which is 1.2.8 & there's a great difference The sound changed, it sounds more interesting & balanced now to me, more bass even at low volumes, less bright as it was before on 1.2.4, option of turning speaker off from app, option of individually turning off voice prompts...the upgrade was very easy & swift from the app, took less than 5 mins, if you have time, you might want to check out the fw 1.2.8, the sound signature has changed for better
I bought a Bose Flex speaker based on this review, was very impressed. Then a bought a 2nd one to pair in stereo, listing to Diana Krall's Temptation, both together in stereo mode is the best bang for buck in sound quality out there for it's size and form factor IMO.

Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 for my money. Although sound signature is a matter of preference the value of the Micro 2 is undeniable in comparison when you can get 2 for the price of 1 Bose Micro. Also, even though the Tribit app has some issues an app is always better than no app. Thank you for another awesome review and comparison, Alan! 😁👍👏

How secure does the tribit mounting strap seem? I'm looking for something I can mount on my mountain bike hammering through janky terrain and concerned it would rub.

Supposedly, or better yet allegedly 😂, there’s a second iteration of the Soundlink Micro that’s pretty close to being released. I read this recently but don’t remember where 🤔 I’m going to cop the StormBox Micro 2 mainly because of its larger battery. That was my only with grip v1. Btw, does the Tribit app have an EQ for the XSound Mega?
well hope its a decent leap forward, i like the bose warm signature but micro now showing its age like the rest of us 🥳 no eq yet but they say it will come.... 🤷♀️
i just ordered a teufel rockster cross, i don't know if teufel ships to the uk but maybe this would also be an interesting speaker for you to review and conpare to speakers like the xtreme 3 and motion boom. I'm curious how they compare and would love to see that video.
Watching on my Soundcore Motion Boom Plus 😂😂 my strap just broke on 1 of my Bose Micros trying to see if I should buy another 1 or switch - cheap straps 🤦 I lost 1 & 1 just broke It seems like Bose is still the king 👑✨ it's all about that bass bby 🗣️🔊
The tribit is no good. I've gone through 4 of them all Blew out after 6 months. I'm going with bose. The the reason why I like the speakers is for the strap .I use it for work or on my electric scooter. But now I'm getting a bose in the mail soon. Thanks for the review

Hello Alan, based on this video, i was convinced to go with the Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 even though i love warm sound signature like that of Motion Boom, but for what its worth the Tribit is the better call for me here, i mostly listen to it with its back on the ground & drivers & buttons facing upwards(off axis), it arrived my destination 2 days ago with firmware 1.1.8 but i see the new update pop up to update to version 1.2.4 Is it advisable to update to this 1.2.4, which firmware sounds the best so i can stick to it, the one you used on this video is 0.1.8 Thanks!

soundcore 3 is fuller and micro 2 is crisper. they are probably on the same level but sound very different. the micro 2 is more versatile. i wouldnt get the soundcore 3 anyway, id get the boost or the maxsound plus over it.

No i just have to be focused on what is most interesting to me because i cant do more than one or two videos a week sadly, so don't have the time for them all, 😭

Hm. I am on the fence going one way or the other. Is it possible to adjust Tribit via EQ to be closer to the sound profile of Bose? I tend to prefer deeper bass that comes out of Bose and Tribit is too bright for me. I have tested few smaller speakers and where they fail for me is sound quality on lower volumes
The Bose soundlink Micro was the first and only micro speaker I ever had 2 years ago. It was ok but no matter how I tried to use it I couldn't get myself to like it so less than 1 year I sold it. The Tribit wins for me but I still couldn't find a use for it😅 OH I just got my second Motion Boom and God damn Alan it makes a difference. My first unit is overall sounds a bit better than my second one. But the second one doesn't distort and it has more mids. I think you may be surprised of the outcome compared to the Boombox 2 and SRS-XG500😯
well whens the video coming? im moving closer to dong this myself 🥳 yeah there does seem a lot of variation in tuning between these cheaper speakers i guess because of low tolerances.
The video should be this week but a hour ago my phone hit my night stand and cracked my display 😭 and it's slowly turning black. And the top of my screen is acting funny. So this week I plan on doing 3 videos and then I will work my way on repairing my phone if i can make it that far 😰
wow, Bose sounds so much worse. Plz make comparission Tribit micro2 vs Jbl clip4 (vs some more models if You like) , both are probably now best in class of little portable speakers.
@@alanrossreviews Nice sound form City, I would really like if you could test the Vifa Oslo since I can't think of a better sounding portable speaker at any size/price (maby Copenhagen xD) but it definitely outperforms minirig 3 2.1 with more detailed and much faster sound...
