This was filmed in spring of 2018 on my first visit to Sand Wash Basin. It is a tribute to Brave who lost his life recently to the harsh 2023 winter. As an aged stallion, the winter was just too much for him. I'm glad he was able to live out his life being wild and free.
The stallion Chief had recently lost his mares to Brave along with the dun stallion Schatzi and bay stallion with a wide blaze, Hawk.
We will miss you Brave! Run free forever!

Dear Karen, Thank you for sharing your wonderful videos. I've always loved horses and wanted them to be free. It's beyond painful to see how selfish people still break the majority of these magnificent creatures for their stupid whims.

Thanks for watching! Our wild horses are under attack from big cattle corporations who want to get rid of them so they have more land for cheap forage. What took hundreds of years to develop these tough horses through survival of the fittest is being wiped out in some cases in a day from helicopter roundups. I hope my videos will bring more awareness to the plight of our beautiful wild horses.

What a beautiful tribute. I want to visit Sand Wash Basin. These hoses are so stunning. We were in Cody WY last fall & saw them from the rd. They need to be protected❗️

Yes, they are amazing! Since the roundup in Sand Wash Basin in 2021 most of the horses are now in the north/northeast end of the basin or near Lookout Mountain. Be prepared to travel several hours before seeing any horses.

The only place to find my books right now is on my website at www.wildkingart.com. Shipping out of the USA can get expensive, but can be done. The only wild horse book in print is Savannah of Sand Wash Basin. My second book called Traveler Wild Stallion of the West has not gone to print yet. Thank you for your interest!
