Aretha Franklin was greatly influenced by Ms. Clara Ward who visited their home for decades being a friend of Rev. Franklin. Aretha says, "Clara Ward was one of my mentors. When I was a little girl, I used to stand by the piano and watch her play." She also influenced how to stretch syllables, moan and to clap with hands held high on left side and to toss the fur.
Billy Craion You mean at Aretha's Amazing Grace recording when she was in her 50s? The year before she died? Not that os entirely impossible but I doubt she was pregnant in the 70s!!! LOL!!!
Timothy Williams Clara Ward was very sick by the time of that recording. She fainted often during this period. I'm not saying she wasn't moved, but her falling out was most likely due to her ill health and they say it felt like hell's sauna in there those two nights.
I thought the same thing too. He was being so extra. Throughout the film, he never sat all the way back into his seat. He was sitting sideways towards the Rev and every few minutes he would turn to the rev and laugh. Like, sir you’re doing the most.
