All the 8 people who disliked this video clearly have no appreciation for fantastic horses. there has never been and never will be a horse as brilliant or as charismatic as Milton. It makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when I watch him and John. They were where the greatest pair ever.
Now 26 but yes you are right, he was Simply the best til this day there hasn't been a horse like him , It would be swedish rider Jan Brinks stallion Briar maybe or Valegro but those special horses are so rare to show up and this still is his song, every time i hear it playing on radio I still think about Milton
I would put Ryan's son in the mix simply because he was a tearaway who needed to be told to focus and under the magic hands of John Whitaker became a legend especially when I was younger In fact the two of them got me watching show jumping
@karendouglas2 I agree !!! When Milton was landing on his jumps ,he was like milk pouring from a jug. Most horses land with a thud , Milton was FLAWLESS !! He had his.own unique style and John Whittaker brought out the best in him. ❤❤❤❤❤
I think, Milton was THE dream horse of every 90's girl. ❤🔥He not only loved jumping, he loved to entertain and spread the joy. Sometimes he really interacted with and fed of the crowd. At least, that's what it seemed. I stopped watching equine sports a long time ago, but the pictures of watching Milton never faded. He was one of a kind in a time when there were some great horses around.
Love Milton and John whitaker, ,never be a partnership like this, although I did like Carlone Bradley very much and still watch this vidio all the time 2019, why is no one else watching it?????
Simply the Best - ever. The privilege of seeing him jump will stay with me forever. No doubt greatly missed by John Whitaker and his team.............but now reunited with Caroline Bradley and probably jumping the clouds together.
I get shivers down my spine every time i watch this video!! Cant believe my mum was lucky enough to ride this beautiful horse before john whitaker bought him.. soo jelous.. RIP Milton
Milton was such a beautiful horse and he made jumping look so easy. He was Simply the BEST. I can't even imagine how hard it must have been to John Whitaker and Milton's owners when he died =( Great video. Had to save it to favorites.
Who is the best, is debatable. But one thing these animals had was, heart, spirit, talent, competitiveness, &, exceptional athletes. All champions. Each a cherish treasure. Who gave more than 100% of themselves.
Tracey Gates i like this horse he was fantastic Showjumper in Olympia horse show years ago but John and Milton had fantastic time to jump together ❤ iove from Wales UK 🏴 🇬🇧 🐴🐎💻🌍🐎🐴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
I'll never get enough of this video. It brings me to tears every time. Even this long after. I was able to meet Milton and pet him in the early '90's when I was just a little girl. Even in the Netherlands where we've always had top notch riders and horses never have I seen a crowd respond as enthousiastic to a horse and rider as John Whitaker with Milton, they brought down the house. Milton stole everyone's heart.
Got the honor to meet both John and Milton as a teenager. Greatest day of my life! ❤ (don't tell my kid I said that! 😜) And today Tina Turner passed away. 😔 Rip both of you.
Bless him :] My trainer worked for the Whitakers for a couple of years, we've got a signed photo of Milton and 2 other SuperStars in the barn's club room :D
anyone privlaged enough to have seen him compete is going to cry when to hear this. and for a fantastic horse like that to die only a few years after he retired, what a waste. every time i hear this song i think of him
I went to a Simply the Best tour in 1994 and saw John Whittaker and Geoff Billington and the wonderful Milton of course. I've still got the T Shirt that's been signed by both of them.
what a beautifully made video! He was truly one of the best of his kind, he was everything you would look for in any performance horse, beauty, power, grace, humor. he will be missed
Herrje zwick das in meinem Herz, er war der beste und erinnert mich so an meinem Dicken , Ecken und Kanten, bloss nich warten muessen, so viel Power. War ein tolles Pferd, beide ( Milton und mein Dicker ).
When I imagine 'Sailor' in Jilly Coopers 'Riders' I think of Milton....! I know many of those that are fans of both Milton and then this novel will identify with this... a horses that really knew his job and tried his hardest because he enjoyed every minute of it..!!! RIP Milton... !
I remember: Mounting a saddle, gaining the rains, puttung the heals down and sitting my back straight and chest out proud. I remember squeezing and the walk, the little trot to the collected trot, the collected trot to the canter and the wind hitting the horses main, the breeze on my face until the team work bounded. The canter to gallop the heart became one Linning to once fence. WE knew we were on our way to VICTORY ! A horse is never a pet, nor animal it is You're friend and team mate!
it was watching john and milton on tv that made me want to go into showjunping myself. i grew up with posters of milton all over my walls, and up untill a few years ago i was actually traing riders in showjumping. i have to admit it though milton was fantastic on his own but he was ultra amasing because of his partnership with jhon. no-one else could of done that!!!
gettin all emotional watchin this- i waas lucky enuff to meet him on the "simply the best" tour when i wass bout 10 lol- plus hav the video ya got all this footage from lol brings bk memories- i will hafta go watch it now hehehe
i love how he leaps into the air- that all started becuase early in his career john [whittaker] was collecting and award after winning something, and he was very exciting and began to rear up and jump about, so he said he would "work on it". not too sure what happened but basically the horse loved being the center of attention and would leap into the air on que as if jumping an imaginary fence! such a star- he must be jumping the clouds in heaven. rip Milton xxxxxxx
He was a talented superstar. And i have one of his bloodline horses. I was like omg when i found out. My sister even worked with him at one point she rode him for john for a few weeks while john was competing.
