Presenting my favorite riffs/sections from Venom`s first three classic albums, "Welcome To Hell", "Black Metal" and "At War With Satan". Some of the songs have been transposed from their original tuning, so that all could be performed on a D standard tuned (D-G-C-F-A-D) guitar.

Gear used:
Gibson Flying V w/Bare Knuckle Pickups`Aftermath set, Fractal Audio System`s AXE-FX 2, using their Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ amp. SADOWSKY 5-string NYC bass through a Line 6 Bass Pod Pro. Toontrack`s Superior Drummer 2.0. used for drums.
Recorded and produced using Logic Pro 9.
Visuals recorded using an iPhone 6S and a GoPro Hero 4 camera. Audio and film mashed together using Final Cut Pro X.

Vandal King Venom are The Godfather’s of heavy Metal. They laid the Blueprint for Thrash, Death, and of course Black Metal. These guys were one of the first to use such extreme themes.

..waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in Time...when "Welcome to Hell" was released it was SUCH an unheard BOMB!!!...and when the Infernal trinity did release "Die hard/Acid Queen" 45 rpm we were ready to Light the Candles at Midnite...then "Black Metal" raised a Fire that sprode around the World..."Warhead, Lady Lust and especially "The 7 gates of hell" did consolidate the throne...the legacy was left with "At war with satan", pure dynamite...then...their Armageddon did swallow their majesty...all that was left were ashes to ashes...dust to dust...and blood to blood....................

Killer riffs! Jeff Dunn (Mantas) was a huge Van Halen fan so you can hear some phaser and fuzz in his guitar tone in early Venom albums like in countess bathory.

I've read here in youtube sometime that there are some riffs which are similar which includes WTH, 2 Minutes to midnight by Iron Maiden, Curse of the Pharaohs by Mercyful Fate, Moonchild by Rory Gallagher, etc

A cool tribute. I wish Cronos would make a tutorial video explaining the thought processes of why he wrote the way he does, & as all these tribute videos sound close to the actual riffs, but not exact. It would be great to see / hear the proper timings & chords used.

I have liked Venom since the mid 80s when I first heard them, as above, they were the first of them all and no one can change that. Mantas is one very underated guitarist, as the tongue in cheek tour bus videos on you tube comment, he wrote Black Metal!
