I showed in Equitation for many years, and my trainer opened my eyes to the fact that many Equitation riders knew how to look pretty on a horse, but not many of us could actually “ride”! What he did for us was put us on difficult horses, we rode each other’s horses periodically, and only campaigned the same horse for a year; in order to give us real riding experience. I was not happy about it then, but in retrospect he did us all a great service.
Beautiful rider. One of the few can stay balanced over and fence and even down that bank. The kindest hands and feel to be envied by some of our best today. Absolute legend.
