YES! FINALLY! A Documentary that shows the reality of how powerful Trike (Triceratops) really was, and not just the getting destroyed by a Rex cliche. Thank you!

@william3100
@william3100 Месяц назад
Except the getting destroyed by a Rex cliche is accurate to reality. Tyrannosaurus and triceratops were practically evenly matched in power. So, there definitely would've been times when T. Rex would kill a triceratops, perhaps even kinda quickly if it sneaks up on the animal right enough to do so. Not saying triceratops is weak. It would've gotten T. Rex about as much, too. Still, not a bad cliche.
@TheRagingTechni
@TheRagingTechni Месяц назад
@william3100 There is evidence in Triceratops fossils that show Trikes and Rexes fought, with healed bone over puncture wounds that fit the bite marks of a T-rex. Healed, being the key word, which also shows Trikes survived their encounters with Rexes more times than not. This means, Tyrannosaurus rex, like any other predator in nature, failed most hunts. After all, the Rex would have to get very lucky to ambush an unsuspecting, lone, Trike to succeed without potential life-treatening injury or death from those horns.
@william3100
@william3100 Месяц назад
@TheRagingTechni the fossil shows the triceratops survived an attack, but I don't see how it indicates that triceratops survived encounters more times than equal, though. Just because predators fail most hunts doesn't mean they fail most of the time in a direct fight. The tyrannosaurus could've tried to kill the animal in a fight but failed to do so, but could succeed in scaring it away or making the triceratops back down first. Animal fights don't always end in death. Triceratops, despite its strength, is still an animal that will run away if things got too rough. Even really tough animals know when to quit. Triceratops definitely could survive and win in a fight against a T. Rex, but so could a T. Rex about as much. Throughout most of the late cretaceous, tyrannosaurids and ceratopsians were in an evolutionary arms race. Both adapting to be able to overcome the other. They seemed to have been an equal match.

I knew about this before Makatoony recommended it, and in his comment section I saw that apparently ABC Terra made not only a video for Life of Triceratops, but he also apparently made a video for Life of Tyrannosaurus, Life of Spinosaurus & Life of Giganotosaurus, but only the Triceratops video has been uploaded on the ABC Terra channel, I can’t wait until he releases the videos for Tyrannosaurus, Spinosaurus & Giganotosaurus as well as other different species from unique Dinosaur groups, in the comment section for Life of Triceratops I made a comment some time ago where I suggested that he should make a video for Life of Edmontosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, Wuerhosaurus, Alamosaurus, Carnotaurus, Therizinosaurus, Dakotaraptor, and also for a Pterosaur namely Quetzalcoatlus.

I love the animation and I’m glad that the environment looks very accurate. It looks like the Florida Everglades and tell Creek looked like the Florida Everglades today and we know that triceratops did fight each other one nitpick I have is that triceratops has filaments in the shortened documentary. We know that early ceratopsians had them like Psittacosaurus however, that does not mean that the late ceratopsians have them as they evolved they stop having filaments, but that’s just my issue

6:02-6:44 Realisticlly one on one the Triceratops would win at least 9/10 confrontations. Unless the T.rex surprised the Triceratops or the Triceratops was already injured. The best way for T.rex to successfully hunt a Triceratops adult would be for one to distract it while the other ambushes from the side or the back. One bite to the neck, spine, or hip and the other Rex could finish the Triceratops off if it wasn't killed outright by the ambushing T.rex. Young Triceratops would be much easier for an adult T.rex to hunt. Edmontosaurus was probably the most frequently hunted herbivore by adult T.rex. To hunt them successfully they would ambush or take the young. T.rex had the tools needed to be stealthy, one of which being padded feet.

I don't like how to depict the trex , just rushing in going for specifically the top frill where he would be on top of the horns which would results in a high chance of death because the horns were too close if t rex hunted luck that every time it would have died every time so it's not even worth it but trex evolved to tackle such herbivores That means he should be able to regularly kill them but obviously predator wants to live so the risk must be calculated If he sees the Isn't going in his favor just back off I know this is a dumb rant but I just had to get it out of my system and This is obviously just my opinion

I would probably rate this 8 out of 10 for the environment and the photorealistic design of the dinosaurs. This is easily one of the best and most heavily researched depictions of Hell Creek I have easily seen. Only a few drawbacks- The ai voice narrator is pretty obvious in places with how it pronounces triceratops. (“Tre” instead of “Try”) The animation and action scene shots can be quite jerky and sharp in places. The animals should be more deliberate, lumbering and smoother in their attacks instead being stiff. One sentence didn’t quite make sense- “but with the Cretaceous just hours away...” I think you meant to say “But with the end of the Cretaceous just hours away, their work is in vain.” Otherwise this was an impressive piece of work and the seven years of effort definitely show. I definitely enjoyed it and my eyes went to saucer shape at how beautiful the film was with its lush environment. I want nothing more than a nature documentary on the Cretaceous dinosaur biomes from mid to late North Africa to Mongolia to hell creek.

5:46 Tyrannosaurus rex isn't the heaviest terrestrial carnivores. The max estimates for Tyrannosaurus falls just under 11 tonnes. We have 5 giant carnivorous theropods that can surpass Rex. 1. Spinosaurus: by Nizar Ibrahim's model it could be 15.5-16.6m long & would weigh 10-12 tonnes. 16.6m & 12 tonnes is based on Spinosaurus biggest specimen ' NMC 41852'. 2. Carcharodontosaurus: Liam Power's 10-13% bigger Carcharodontosaurus saharicus could be 14.1m & 11.8 tonnes & Paul Sereno's 13.7m long Carcharodontosaurus model could be 10.9 tonnes. 3. Saurophaganax: Newly described specimen ' Leviathan ' is currently 12.9m & 8.6 tonnes but some speculative estimates by 7 shots it could be 14.3-14.6m long & 10-13 tonnes range. 4. Mapusaurus: it's pubis shaft size is said to be 10% bigger than 12.8 meters Giganotosaurus holotype & it's incredibly variable. With that pubis shaft it can be scaled much bigger 13.9 meters long & 11-12 tonnes. 5. Giganotosaurus: The Giganotosaurus holotype is currently 12.8 meters long & 9 tonnes. While the Giganotosaurus paratype is said to be 2.2-15% bigger. It depends on dentary estimates but it is likely bigger than any T rex specimens at 8-15% bigger. 2.2% Giganotosaurus paratype- 13m long & 9.6 tonnes 6.6% bigger Giganotosaurus paratype- 13.5m long & 10.4 tonnes 8% bigger Giganotosaurus paratype- 13.6m long & 11.3 tonnes 10% bigger Giganotosaurus paratype- 14.1m long & 12.3 tonnes 15% bigger Giganotosaurus paratype - 14.7m long & 14.3 tonnes. So, yes these said carnivorous theropods ( Spinosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Mapusaurus, Saurophaganax) can be scaled bigger than the biggest Tyrannosaurus rex.

Not to mention that an average spinosaurus is 4 - 6 tonnes, average carchar is 7 tonnes, average mapusaurus is also 7 tonnes, an average saurophaganax is 6 - 7 tonnes and an average giga is 8 - 9 tonnes
